  1. Forgive me body for I have indulged on an excessive amount of tasty Italian sweets! Really though, with all the sweet treats they offer, I feel like eating everything on display. The man at the counter, whose name I unfortunately don't know, is really friendly. He is proud to show and suggest many of his pastry shop's specialties. The owner–at least I think he's the owner–was nice enough to let me sample one of their mini chocolate biscottis as well. The biscottis alone are worth coming back for.

Key Lime Cheesecake: If they sell a larger key lime cheesecake, I am bound to come back. The small round one I bought was perfect. The top had a thin layer of slightly tangy lime glaze, while the cheesecake itself was dense and very creamy. It's chilled along with their other treats, which made it taste even better. It has the perfect sweetness and tartness I look for.

Chocolate Cannoli with Cream and Chocolate Pieces: I've had quite a few cannolis but this is the best one I've had thus far. The filling is very creamy and sweet, with the chocolate chips and chocolate shell adding another notch of sweetness. I love their cannoli, but next time, I'll probably stick with a plain cannoli shell. Aside from the chocolate chips, the owner even dusted it with powdered sugar so you can imagine how sweet these are! As someone who is actually not too fond of sweets, these were great!

Zeppola: Their Zeppole–basically like deep fried cream puffs–had extra filling on top and, I believe, cherries on top of that. It was light and puffy, while the fillings (ricotta and vanilla cream) had the right amount of sweetness. Like everything else, the owner dusted it with powdered sugar. My favorite, however, would definitely be the ricotta.

The prices weren't listed, but considering how tasty everything I bought was and the fact that they were homemade, it was worth every penny. The owner told me that they ship to anywhere in the country; he specifically mentioned California since he asked where I was from. There were a lot of pastries and treats to choose from. Overall, it was a great first impression. I'll be sure to come back for more.

  2. Conca D'oro has been a staple in my family since I was a little kid. My dad is from Sicily and my mom is from Poland. With that being said, any time we have family parties, we can easily get around 20-30 people at the table. With that amount of people, YOU GOTTA HAVE GOOD DESSERTS.

Conca D'oro has always been our place to go for some belly-busting, delicious canoles. My dad is a STRICT guy when it comes to foods he eats that AREN'T from Sicily (or having Sicilian backgrounds). He's the biggest activist for Conca since he's the one who actually FOUND the place about 20 years ago. The canoles are delicious — varied, creamy, and sweeter than Yoohoo.

Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and polite, as well as diligent with having their orders done and on time with regards to how YOU want it as the customer. The place has DELICIOUS cakes as well, also sweet and bound to please.

Visit Conca for all of your canole and Italian dessert needs for sure.

  3. This is the review I posted on Wedding Wire:
I would have loved to give a better review for this bakery. This is my local baker, we go to them for all of our birthday and special occasion cakes, not to mention the out of this world Cannoli's. We did not do any other tastings, because we had already known the quality of the product. We had chosen a chocolate and vanilla cake with a buttercream frosting and the signature filling of Cannoli filling, Chocolate and Vanilla whip along with a cherry compote. The cost of the cake was reasonable $450 for an 85 person count.
Interactions with the bakery went seamlessly, no issues with cake delivery or with working with the caterer.
The cake was beautifully decorated with attention to details, our flowers were Calla Lillies and they were able to recreate them perfectly.
Unfortunately the cake was very dry, not what we were used to from Conca D'Oro, the filling was scant and you could barely detect all of different fillings used to create the signature filling. A few of our guests also had said the cake was dry (we are both avid Yelp users, and Yelp Elites) so we appreciated the honest feedback. This cake was our biggest and only disappointment of our wedding , we had told so many of our guests about  awesome this cake was going to be, only to be let down terribly.

  4. Their cream puffs, other pastries, and cookies are so refined in flavor and texture.  Very consistent quality. I have been a patron since childhood.  Thank God my mom would bring home treats from here.

I have been to "acclaimed" bakeries in New York City, but none can compare to this place's cannoli.  Their filling has a great texture and contains chopped pignoli (pine nuts) and almond or marzipan flavor.

I've ordered several custom cakes here- layers of moist, vanilla cake with strawberry or cherry compote, then vanilla custard, and chocolate custard in between, and slightly soaked in sweet rum.  These were covered in white icing that was just sweet enough.  The sides were covered with lightly toasted, blanched almonds.  What a divine combination!

  5. Cookies.  YUMMMMMMY  I'm generally in love with those pink leaf shaped cookies , which oft times come in green but I am specifically in love with Conca's leaf shaped cookies. I eat them anytime I can find a bakery that makes them.  The staff (maybe owner?) was really friendly and gave me a sample of their signature biscotti.  Biscotti alone is worth a trip back.  This place is right near a really cute cafe van gogh's ear, so have lunch, then grab some dessert at Conca.

This place has been in the family for generations, I love that. #supportlocal

  6. The tiramisu cups were alright…usually, they're more than alright…I dunno…little cold. Not too bad. But the cannoli?

    OMG.

    10 out of 10.

Union is lucky to have this joint present within it's city lines.

Leave a tip, take the cannoli.
