I love the crab here. Although they didn't have the angry crab this time, the snow crab was also very good, and I can't wait to come back again for the whole crabs. The beers are also nice and cold and fresh. The location is awesome, and after a fun day on the beach or fishing or strolling or roller coasting, this is where its at.
this is the last you'll hear with regards to me reviewing Coney Island stuff until the Coney Island UYE in September (SPOILER ALERT!). Phil, you can rest easy now.
headed here after movie night at the museum. heard a band playing, saw some people in, so we popped in.
for some reason, only beer left on tap was Coors Light. so D-Block had to suffer with that. I went for a rum & coke, which was served in a tiny cup, but was pretty much "rum with a splash of coke for flavoring". I am a fan of this mixing method. total for 2 drinks was $12. decent.
inside looked like a pizzeria. I understand it's more of a restaurant with a bar attached, not really a hopping nighttime spot. didn't try any food.
the band was actually pretty good! they were a group of older guys playing some classic rock covers – Beatles, ZZ Top, Clapton. we didn't stay very long, but it seemed like a decent bar to grab a drink or two.
I think Julia and I have an itinerary to start planning the bar-hopping segment of that UYE, so in the words of a famous fascist lion…BE PREPARED!!!!!
Not a bad option for a few beers in the Coney Island area. There are a few places that are a bit more fun, but this isn't bad if you're just looking for a quick pint to hang out. The place is decorated well with the 'surf & turf' theme!
