  1. The fish and chips are delicious and they have Magners hard cider (I miss that since moving to Memphis).  This has become a favorite place to eat for my Aunt and Uncle and since I was visiting them we ate here.
Service was fast and our waiter was very sweet and patient with my family members who are partially deaf.

  2. Copper Kettle has a pretty extensive menu, but our party of five walked away unimpressed by its quality. We got seated immediately on a Saturday night around 9, but it took a while for our waiter to come around and take our orders. There's a big sign up by the bar advertising a burger deal (junior burger and budweiser for $8.95), but when someone tried ordering it, the waiter said it was only valid at the bar itself. He ended up giving my friend the burger for the special price, but without the beer. Not a big deal, but I also don't really understand why they couldn't give the full deal if they were willing to give part of it to us; we were sitting 15 feet from the bar anyway.

Speaking of anyway, I got the buffalo chicken salad which was A-OK. I'm glad I got dressing on the side because there was enough sauce from the chicken to cover the rest of the salad. The sauce itself wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated. In retrospect, I probably enjoyed my dish the most out of anyone in my group. The burgers looked a combination of overcooked and small, and my friend who got a black bean burger received a literal scoop of black beans on a bun – it fell apart immediately.

Side note, but they were out of Macallan. I don't get it.

Overall, I'm in no rush to get back to Copper Kettle. It wasn't the worst experience I've ever had, but that shouldn't make it worth returning to, especially when places like this are a dime a dozen in this part of Queens.

  3. Came here for dessert and coffee with my sisters. The chocolate mousse cake was all right. I don't think I'd order it again. The coffee was good though!

The last time I was here I ordered the beet salad and it was amazing!

  4. What a great neighborhood restaurant and bar!  This is really a go-to place with excellent comfort food (although they do have a big salad selection), and lots of beers on tap.  The decor inside is cozy, and I especially like the wooden booths up front.  The backyard is also really nice, with a mix of smaller tables and picnic tables for larger groups.

As far as food, I'm a huge fan of the turkey burger (def one of the best I've ever had anywhere!).  They also have great wings – very crispy and perfectly sauced (try the Brogie wings, which is hot sauce + BBQ sauce), and the sweet potato fries are some of my all time favorites as well (soft on the inside and crispy on the outside – yum!).

I also love what a mixed clientele they have – their business truly reflects the diversity of the neighborhood because of what a welcoming place this is.  I see everyone from sports fans watching the games, to young families having early dinner and "hipsters" out for a beer.  The staff are also genuinely nice and so attentive.  Five stars!!

  5. Been here a few times….mostly for drinks. It is my neighborhood bar. The bartender and wait staff are nice. Drinks and food are decent, but it is pricier than some other bars. I guess you pay more because it looks nicer than some of the other bars nearby. I do like the face that they have an outdoor garden.

  6. We went for dinner with past Friday night and it was pretty crowded once we arrived.  Got a table right near the front of the place.  Had a steak sandwich and some soda and the rhubarb pie.  Husband had the chicken sandwich and a few craft beers.  Its not a bad place.. its pretty nice and very lively.. but its was a pub.  Nothing else.

  7. Great neighborhood bar. They stayed open during the recent blizzard and were packed. Beer selection is okay, food is solid, and they are always exceedingly welcoming and friendly. Staff is always excellent. Maybe not a destination spot, but definitely a place to frequent if you live in the area.

  8. I met up with a friend here for drinks and the place had a nice crowd some eating and others drinking at the bar watching the baseball games. We were seated at a comfortable booth and the waitress came by right away to take our drink orders. We weren't really hungry so we shared the beef nachos which were good but I wish I knew they had raw onions since I really dislike them.
I have to say the ambiance here its cool and the drinks were done right.
