  1. We tried Cotto when facing multiple delays on our flight and having spend $8 at a neighboring eatery for a small skillet of crinkle fries. Feeling famished and grumpy about paying inflated airport prices, we settled on Cotto because at least the dining area was appealing.

Turns out the food is decent for airport and not outrageously priced. We had a bottle of Cabernet for $36 and split a tasty pizza. Really saved our moods after a frustrating flight delay.

  2. First of all, let me just say that LGA sucks! My gate was C35, so when I passed security, I actually needed to wait for a bus to take me to the gate. Ok, now back to the restaurant review.

The concept is good, I guess. But execution needs some work. You go in there, pick a seat, then there's iPad on the table that you can order from. So I ordered Rosemary chicken. It took a good half hour for the food to come out, but actually tasted not bad.

On to the service. Service sux. I gotta flag down ppl to get my water, get the water refilled. What they really need is a button to call for service, like the ones you see in Korean restaurants. That would've been more efficient.

  3. Great for a quick stop while you await your flight. Terrific frittatas! You have the opportunity to add and play with the ingredients you would like. If you happen to be there for a night flight and need a drink. The bar has a great variety. In addition, you can always charge your phone while you eat.

  4. A decent airport restaurant that has tasty food, a decent setting, but pricey with iffy staff. I was slightly hungover on a flight out of Laguardia with a 2 hour layover. At about 7am I needed something in my tummy and a tasty breakfast. Cotto was right in my terminal and easy for me to pop a seat by the bar. Every seat has an iPad in front of it for easy ordering and paying. You make your choices and the waiters come over to you.

I ordered a Prosciutto Frittata as my main meal. It was cooked well and had a nice faint meaty taste. I always enjoy a frittata for breakfast and eggs are great for breakfast energy. As a desert I actually ordered a sliced grapefruit. This was a delightful hangover pick me up. Juicy and cut perfectly. It did take a while for my food to come and the waiter kind of just plopped the plate on my table. They forgot about my Black Tea so I had to ask for it 20 minutes in when I realized it was missing. While the format of this place is great for a busy person in the airport, it does not work completely and the service is trying to go for a bit too fancy spancy look. At least I was able to grab that Fiji Water before I hopped on the plane.

  5. Top notch airport food. Classic OTG iPad setup. Got my meal in under 15 minutes. Cotto is a no brainer if you're taking a shuttle out of C.

    Meatballs, mozzarella,

  6. Definitely check out the vegetarian menu and get the rabe-pepper-lemon ricotta toast on Balthazar bread (don't remember the exact name) – it's an airport steal at $5. Great snack or even a light lunch or dinner. I ate it so quickly I didn't get the chance to take a pic! Very tasty, classy, light, and beautifully presented.

  7. Laguardia Airport, terminals C and D (Delta) just doesn't have that great of a selection of eats.  It might look good, but the taste of the food and the price just doesn't fly (pun intended) for me.  I met a couple colleagues here for dinner before our business trip this evening.

The menu looked promising, from gourmet salads to paninis, pizzas, and pastas.  They ranged in price from $15-30 – definitely on the very, very pricey side for what you get, but whatever, you're at an airport, right?

I ordered the butternut squash ravioli for $22 – $28 after tax and tip (ridiculous).  When it came, I saw about 6 pieces of large ravioli in a very, very buttery, watery, and otherwise not very flavorful sauce.  I ate a couple pieces – the pasta was actually not too soggy and was a good al dente, but the butternut squash filing left much to be desired.  It looked like, well, frozen ravioli thrown into some butter and salt.  The waiter came around and asked me how it was and I told him the honest truth – way, way too greasy and buttery for my tasting (who actually likes this??) and he was extremely understanding and nice about it and let me order their kale salad with shrimp instead (which is cheaper…. But whatever).  I spoke to the chef and the waiter who were both very nice and understanding of my situation, but pretty much said that this is just how it's made – with butter, water, and salt, and you either love it or you hate it.  Maybe some people like drinking butter.  Regardless, props to them for being very patient and understanding.

My kale salad was far, far tastier and the shrimp was nicely salted and cooked – not under or overcooked.  The kale was not rough, but was a little oily due to olive oil.  I'll probably have this again, but ask for less oil next time.  It also came with nuts and honeycrisp apple and cheese.  An expensive salad at $15 (for just the salad) and $6 for the shrimp, but I was not disappointed by it.

Typical airport restaurant, but with very friendly staff.  As with any airport restaurant, just be careful what you order.

  8. This a different airport restaurant.  The food and beverages are ordered with a iPad and you run your own credit card.

Very little wait staff interact.   My meal made it to the table before my beverage.

It was quick, but probably look for other options next time.
