  1. I came here on a whim to catch up with a hs friend, the steak and eggs benedict brunch special was so good! Crescent grill is a farm to table restaurant with a bar in the front and a very cozy dining room in the back. Our table thoroughly enjoyed the food, and we got free refills on our coffee at least 5-6 times. We ended up staying after they took our plates for 2 more hours. The service was exceptional and I would have given one more star but I had asked the waitress for private event info and she was super helpful in asking the owner/manager to come up to speak to me. The owner said she will email me the info so I left my email with the waitress as instructed. To this day, I have not recieved any emails, maybe they don't want to do private events. I am a bit disappointed since I was really considering using their services.

  2. Always a pleasure. I went to another event here and all of the appetizers and drinks were delicious. The sangria was yummy and all of the drinks were great! The art work by the current artist is stunning. Highly recommend. Can't wait to return with friends.

    Ps: There is a shuttle hat will pick you up from queens train station.

  3. Celebrated my son's birtthday here. Super cool interior and the art is lovely.  The food was beautiful to look at and equally tasty.  It was a snowy Feb night so we especially appreciated their car service with LIC.  I hear brunch is great.  Visit soon

  4. The pros about this place is that it takes reservations, even for a large brunch party on a Saturday, and that the staff is very friendly and attentive. My friends and I came here for brunch and we were seated right away with no issues; we made a reservation for the 14 of us. I had the salmon eggs Benedict, which was decent, but I wasn't crazy about them. The only thing that kept me from rating this place a 4-5 star is their lack of customer service. One of my friends found a piece of hair in her food and immediately flagged a waiter down. The waiter offered to grab her another dish so she ordered something else, assuming it would be on the house or the table would at least be offered some sort of discount for the mishap. Unfortunately this is where the business turned me off, we were charged full price for her replacement dish which she thought was going to be manager comp'd. So aside from the attentiveness from the staff, I don't think this place is worth the drive to come out to.

  5. I was a bit disappointed with my visit to the Crescent Grill, and found it very hard to understand how it was rated so high.  It's not terrible, but it's trendy, expensive, and the food was not what I would expect from a high rated restaurant on a Friday night.  I just didn't see the money being worth it with so many other great options out there.

    There are some high points to Crescent Grill, such as the decor and drink menu.  The bar is a nice little set up too with a great selection of local beers.  The bar tenders is very friendly, and will give you a recommendation on drinks and let you try a small sample.  try showing up early if you decide to come here and striking up a conversation and trying the drinks before you dinner.

    The food did not meet my expectations.  in my opinion, the food was overly artsy, small portioned, overly priced and just not very good.  I had the crab corn soup as an appetizer and the salmon as a entree, and both were unappealing to me.

    The crab corn soup was extremely disappointing.  It came out in a two service setting with a pile of the soup's middles in a bowl, and the server poured the broth over the middles in-front of me.  I liked the presentation, and while it tasted good, I could not see or feel any crab meat in the middles.  I couldn't enjoy the soup without the clumps of meat, it became a distraction for me as i thought about its price point and the lack of meat.

    I had the Salmon with a side of broccoli barb as my entree.  The salmon was an extremely small portion for me, but it was flavored well.  The dish was ruined by the broccoli barb, which was dressed in a horse radish sour cream sauce.  The bitterness from the broccoli barb with the horseradish sauce was just not a good pairing, and I couldn't eat it after several bites.  I love broccoli barb, and in my opinion, this was the worst adaptation on it that I have ever tried.  I would recommend dropping the horse radish dressing and use some sort of olive oil, garlic, and rosemary infusion.

    The service was decent for the majority of my party, but dinner was not brought out all at the same time.  The server kept my drink full for most of the night, but he did slack a little towards the end.  I wasn't certain if it was because he had too many tables or if he just didn't see my drink being empty.  I would encourage a little bit of attention to this area of service, and looking into why tables aren't served all at once.

    I found Crescent Grill to be a nice place for a date if you want to get to know someone and don't care very much about food; it has a great ambiance for a first date.  But, I would not recommend it to Foodies and/or parties from this experience.

  6. Came here with a party of 10 for Saturday brunch around 1 pm. The staff was very welcoming and amiable. I got the duck confit dish with unlimited drinks (17) and my bf got the crescent burger. My duck dish was delicious; savory, light, and satisfying (portion was small though) while the crescent burger was ok. Our experience here was good but don't think it was worth the drive out to Long Island city and I think It is a little overpriced for brunch. Most brunch places have a deal of a complimentary drink with your brunch entree. There are cheaper and better brunch places around Astoria. Overall, I appreciated the attentive staff service.

  7. Brunchin' on the moon!

    With my folks spending the day visiting friends in Hoboken, I was left to my own machinations (mwahahaha) in Long Island City.

    I was seeking a burger bar to watch the White Sox vs. Yankees finale on 5/15/16 (yes I know I'm late, also shut up, I had a LOT of reviews to write for the trip), and much to my dismay I discovered that many businesses were closed on Sunday.  Aimlessly shuffling up and down streets, I eventually stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant.

    Serendipity struck again, as I found myself at Crescent Grill.  The friendly hostess sat my party of 1 and shortly thereafter a server brought me a basket of their homemade biscuits as she took my order.  The biscuits were tasty; one was a denser cornbread-type and another was a yeasty variety, but both were good and I loved that it was more unique than the typical store-bought bread & butter bullsh*t.

    They prided themselves on being a farm-to-table place and their menu was very highly regarded.  Not one to pass up a solid brunch opportunity, I got the salmon eggs benedict [$14] and a pint of a locally-brewed Belgian wit [$6].  The portion size was ample and the amount of salmon I received was far more than I'd expected.

    The eggs benny were on-point; perfectly poached eggs with spinach, Canadian bacon (aka ham), and hollandaise sauce.  They came with AWESOME breakfast potatoes and lightly-dressed field greens.  For fourteen bucks, I found this to be an (inter)stellar value.

    My server was gregarious and attentive, I couldn't have asked more from her.  Towards the end of the meal, she conveniently "forgot if (I) had ordered 2 beers or 3"….which she said with a wink and a smile.  I definitely ordered 3–she rung up the bill as 2.  Lovely woman, she was.

    Bread = 5
    Circuses = 4.5*

    *deducting 1/2 a point for not carrying the Sox/Yankees game on their lone TV

    I practically forgot about baseball for an hour or two, which is almost unheard of for those who know me well.  Friendly servers and out-of-this-world brunch can have that effect.  The only thing more tasteful than the interior decor/ambiance of Crescent Grill was their salmon eggs benedict & homemade biscuits.

    Highly recommend.

  8. Got their brunch (which is a bit pricey, as per usual for farm-to-table style fare). Service was a bit slow that day and it took us a while to get our food, but when it came, the food was flavorful. I got the breakfast sandwich and my friends got the Crescent Burger and Duck Barley. Would definitely recommend the sandwich and the burger as they were very filling, but the duck barley was a bit small and was mostly just barley rice.
