  1. I love Crown Fried Chicken. I was a regular when I lived in Philadelphia, and I'm hoping to be a regular here. The guy is friendly enough, although you do have to speak up since he's across a pretty wide counter. It's a standard Crown Fried – maybe a little less greasy than what I'm used to. I'm not complaining at all. My favorites are the combo chickens and the 6 piece hot wings. Conveniently located, not too far from my apartment, and close to the subway – so when I get off after a good night of drinking, drunk munchies is just right there.

  2. I'm trying the hot wings as I've learned that at most franchise like these hot simply means seasoned. Also trying the BBQ wings and curly fries.

The hot wings are seasoned alright, it's  well seasoned with SALT. It tastes like that's the only ingredient they've used. The BBQ is "better" a sweet sauce is  sort of masking the salty taste.

Their curly fries are soft and squishy and I'm here wondering if I ordered diabetic mashed potato???

No disrespect to the queues of people I regularly see here but your doctors are so gonna love yah!
    No bueno.

The place is clean and the many food posters gives it a playroom feel.

The guy at the counter was VERY nice and he greeted other customers by name as they came in. I especially loved his interaction with one little girl. ONLY for his customer service skills and shop cleanliness Crown Fried gets 3 stars!

    The End.

  3. Really, really,  really salty friend chicken.  Cheap and fast. Open late.  You can find better friend chicken near by.  Really, I bet it would be awesome after about 10 cocktails but for me stone cold sober it really was nothing remarkable and honestly was pretty bland other then salty.

  4. This place rocks, I don't care what anyone says. It seems like this joint is just always open. I've been told it does close at some point, i just have yet to see it. One thing i will say is, they sure do give you A LOT of fries with the sandwiches, not sure if that's a bad thing. Just know that you have to bring your eating pants when you're getting food from here, because you're going to get a lot of food in exchange for not a lot of money. Also, pizza is $1, and good!

  5. I was really hoping for really good fried chicken, since this place is basically mobbed at around 6PM. However, I was so disappointed. I ordered 6 pieces of fried chicken (2 were breast, 4 were dark), potato wedges, and mac and cheese. I came here because Rowe's across the street was sold out of their mac and cheese and fried chicken breast.

Anyway, the fried chicken did not have that nice flavorful crisp that you usually get from fried chicken and the breast was very dry. The mac and cheese looked disgusting and tasted watery. The potato wedges had an okay flavor, but were definitely frozen and still cold.

I was pretty disgusted by the food that I almost ordered from another place, but reminded myself that I am lucky to have food in front of me.
