Oh booooy, this place is slooow. There is 1 cashier to take and serve orders, taking ~10 minutes to serve the 4 people in front of me. I finally made my way to the front and ordered the Snack Box which includes 2 pieces of chicken, a biscuit, and small styrofoam container of mashed potatoes and gravy for $4.30 ($3.95 + tax). Not too shabby. The cashier gets on the microphone and shouts "Snack Box", and slowly turns around to get my order at the preparation table. My boxed food, a plastic spoon, and 6 napkins were placed in a 'I Love New York' and I was on my way.
The chicken was what one would expect at a place like this, skin extra crispy and orange-toned in color giving its subtle spice. The meat on the leg was juicy, but the breast meat was slightly dry. Tasty, yet typical for chicken sitting in a glass buffet table for who knows how long. The biscuit was proportionately large in size. Fresh but slightly dry. Some melted butter would have been nice. The mashed potatoes were of the creamy consistency, topped with brown gravy to make it a bit more appetizing.
Other random tidbits: – The place was fairly clean especially at all the foot traffic I always see this place getting – There are 8 small tables to sit at – Some interesting specials such as 6 mozzarella sticks for less than $2; Crown Special which includes a chicken sandwich, fries, and 16 oz. soda for $4.60, 6 hot wings for $5 and change. – No public bathrooms
