“Best part is, they're expensive ($5 & $7.50 respectively during lunch) and they deliver as well!”
“Sandwiches are very reasonably priced, though the meals are smaller than what you would get for the price, say in Union City or North Bergen.”
“He looooves the yellow rice and eats it as a snack the next day for lunch.”

A non-descript place (the banner sign was hanging off the window) on Westshore Avenue in Dumont with absoulutely no atmosphere. I prefer to dine without having to watch basketball on tv. But the good part is the food is prepared fresh and lots of it is served and the prices are very reasonable.
When I complimented Eddie on how good the food was, in this case Ropa Vijea was really good with fluffy yellow rice, he said; "thanks" in a shallow voice and that was it. I do not think he speaks English very well, either that or he is very shy. The shyness however does not reflect in his food.. The made to order empanadas are a great treat; even though they are fried, there was no trace of oil to be had…I didn't even need a napkin to clean my hands..interesting. Folks, this stuff is not from Costco, the onions for example come from Texas…..enjoy but don't get overwhelmed by the surroundings.
So far I've only tried the empanadas (which are made to order, $1.50/each). The chicken one came with peppers and hot sauce, and had nice flavor. The cheese one was with queso blanco; nice but nothing special. I'll be back to try their lunch specials and flan.
