  1. An otherwise 4-star review has been downgraded to 3 because of the way Cue Bar charges its customers (see review end).

Cue Bar is huge, so you never have to wait for a pool table. There are options for other activities as well, such as ping pong, beer pong (yes, there are designated beer pong tables), air hockey, and a couple of electronic games (boxing, darts). Simply put, you won't be bored here. But if you are, there are chairs and benches throughout, including a lounge area near the bar.

Prices are moderate. They charge per person, per hour, and there are drink specials depending on the night. When I came here on Sunday, my 2 friends and I were charged $36.24 for 2 hours 6 minutes of ping pong/pool ($5.75 per person per hour), and $42 for 6 Silver Margarita specials ($7 each). The total was $78.24, but we were charged $78.25. Obviously, this is hardly a big difference, but it really irritates me when businesses have willy-nilly practices for charging customers.

  2. Had a date at Cue Bar on a Thursday night.

My first impression was a good one. The place has a good vibe. It's huge, clean, the football game was on the big screen….we were good.

The register in the front is for pool only…..there will be another bill for food and drinks. The prices for pool are listed and the price is dependent on the day, time, and amount of people on the table. He gave in his I.D. to get a pool table and were assigned table #19. There are several pool tables, a Foosball table, a Beer Pong Table, and Table Hockey.

The waitress came around (in the beginning of our date) and took drink and food orders. I ordered Pinot Grigio and then a Sex on the Beach from the Happy Hour Menu. Not sure of the Pinot Grigio brand but it was delightful and the Sex on the Beach was really good. There were a lot of good drink choices on the late night happy hour menu posted right on the front door.

When we wanted to order food, the waitress was no where to be found and it was not busy at all. When she finally came around, we grabbed her and ordered Honey BBQ popcorn chicken and they came out cold. He really wanted quesadillas anyway so we sent the chicken back and ordered steak quesadillas instead. She was very nice about taking the food back and taking it off the bill. Before the quesadillas came out, she brought us the bill saying that she's closing out so we should close out. It's all good but now I understand why you were no where to be found. She was probably cleaning up so she could get up outta there. What I didn't like is that she stood there in front of us waiting for him to pay, took the money, never brought back the change, and didn't ask if the change was hers or not. I thought that was rude.

There are also tables and chairs around the pool tables but I just felt like on either side, my bag was just too far from me.

Other than that one server, we had a good time. I wouldn't go running back but I would probably revisit.

  3. Cue bar is a run of the mill pool hall. What is unique about it, is that it's the only option for pool in Bayside. Being perfectly honest, this place isn't that bad. The tables are solid without any scratches on the felt. Most of the cues are straight but always test them before using them! I love that they have a full bar and have waitresses going around to each table. Drinks are okay here, not the widest selection of beer but respectable enough where everyone will find something that they like. I do like drinking Macallen here, something about drinking whisky and playing pool just rings that perfect tone.

Make sure you don't park in the CVS parking lot. You will get towed.

  4. My friend's suggestion was to come here and bring a can of whooping in billiards.  Said can of whoop a– did not materialize.  Not that I'm amazing at pool anyway.  The thing is we didn't bring a credit card to reserve the tables.  Ugh why didn't we come prepared!  Sounds hilarious, right?
It is a fun place to have a conversation.  The music is top 40's, and to quote Kate Perry, I liked it.  Then again, I walked in with my coworkers around 3 pm, so maybe it wasn't a crazy scene.  We were looking for something nice to unwind after a long crazy week of work.  After walking in, I glimpsed in and spied scores of pool tables, even a table tennis table, and also air hockey table.
For some reason, they didn't have some things on the menu–maybe since it was the afternoon?  Or is it like this often…I would still give them the benefit of the doubt.  Espresso machine wasn't working, so we did not have cappuccinos or Irish Creme Espresso.  We ended up with two iced coffees which were great!  Oh well, so there are no berries for colada.  It's okay we are resourceful, so we got pina coladas instead.
I felt bad for the waitress, since she was all alone by herself, bringing us drinks and plates of food.  She was aboveboard about the things available and apologetic about things that ran out.  I liked her.  She was really helpful and friendly.  And we all really liked our meals and also the drinks which were good.  Sweet!  I was thinking of Long Island Iced Tea, but it might be too much–let's save it for next time! Oh and I love Peach Schnapps!  In three drinks, I saw it! California Sunset, Irish Kiss, and Sangria Martini.

  5. I've come here many times over the years and in many different seasons and for many different occasions, most of the time I've come here to play billiards, I don't know the rates that well but I was here last Sunday afternoon and paid $15 an hour for billiards, one thing to note is that they also have ping pong now, it's the same price and what we did is after an hour of billiards we traded the balls in for the ping pong set, recently I see that they have a beer pong table set up now too, I don't know how pricing works for that though, the place is mostly made up of pool tables, there are only 2 ping pong tables and 1 beer pong table from what I could tell, they have a nice lounge area on the side of the bar which has a really nice fireplace that's open in the winter, it's a nice spot to just hang out and have a drink, there is bar seating along with a few tables behind that, the beers here are pretty standard and I know they have food but I've yet to try any of it, there are also TV screens everywhere and a big projector screen so come watch your sports here, this is one of my favorite hang out spots in Queens and definitely recommend it

  6. Went here a few times with friends and they have a decent amount of pool tables. At night times (especially on weekends) it does get crowded and we often had to wait by the bar for a table to open up.

It's a great place to chill and have a kick back with some friends. Come on a Tuesday between 5pm-midnight and take advantage of their happy hour! I really mean it, take advantage of it because the happy hour is incredible. $4 shots, $3 Coronas, $5 jager bombs, $6 LITs. Amazing.

Will definitely be back. The staff was very kind and helpful. They have staff that walk around on the floor to get you anything you need from the bar or take your empty bottles and glasses from you.

  7. This is a neighborhood place that is great to come to just for shooting some pool and not getting your drink on, although you can get your drink on here and you might play pool better if your do. Lots of tables to play on and we have never had to wait for a table. Plenty of seating for those not into showing off their mad pool skills and just wanting to watch those that think they have skills.

We come here every so often and have a few good laughs at who thinks they are the Minnesota Fats of the neighborhood. I break out my "Simpsons" stick and start smacking those balls into the pockets. Yes I do own a pool stick with Homer Simpson on it, don't judge…just love. And all of the balls are good right? I don't discriminated against the balls, all are fair game for me. 🙂

We have ordered some bar food here and its bar food. I have never had any beer or cocktails at this place so I really cannot rate it based on the alcohol but the fun is good.

They also have ping pong another game where you get worse or better based on alcohol content of the human body.

There is a very busy Halal food truck outside of the Cue Bar, which seems very popular at all times of the day.

Note to all coming here….DO NOT PARK IN THE CVS PARKING LOT. They tow cars regularly in this parking lot. Cue Bar has no parking lot so you will need to park your car on the street or better yet take an UBER. This way you can get your drink on and play/shoot some pool responsibly.

PS. Don't shoot your balls on the floor.

  8. Great place for pool and ping pong. Clean and modern looking. Some great pool players that are very friendly and give tips to beginners. Good drinks and food too.
