Love love this place! Mildly sweet, creamy yet light and best of all homemade, Culture is the organic and healthier marriage of Chobani and Pinkberry/Red Mango.
Culture has mainly tarty and fruity yogurt flavors, though they offer many different types of toppings to create a chocolatey or fruitier concoction (to your preference). You can request samples of the flavors before making your purchase. I thought the original flavor was the best out of two other froyos flavors I tried (blackberry tarragon and coconut mango).
You get one complimentary topping for each cup you order. A kid's cup is the perfect size for a post-dinner dessert.
I will definitely return to try some of their other froyo flavors and their non-frozen Greek yogurts.
Dang it, I'm a man, I eat my steak raw, my bacon crispy, and I haven't had a vegetable since my mom force fed me broccoli as a two year old. The first few times I passed Culture I avoided it, because who eats plain yogurt? Me. I do, now, because it's delicious.
Caveat: they have a rotation of flavors, and as someone whose dessert preferences consist of more chocolate than the average Willy Wonka, I would come in and not see anything on the menu I liked some times. But other times, they'd nail it: nutella frozen yogurt was awesome, and so was their other chocolate option. Add on your one free topping of oreos and that usually made it chocolatey enough for me. Heads up, it's pretty expensive, but as a nice refreshing (and pretty light) dessert, it turned into a go-to spot.
I love yogurt so much I find myself eating it at least once daily. I love it plain and full of fat! Being that it's now summer, I find myself craving those same flavors in frozen form. I thought I could get that fix from Victory Garden the other week, but I was disappointed with the sample I tried – it lacked the flavor and tang that a real yogurt has.
Bestie and I made our way to Culture, hoping to find what we were looking for and indeed we did! This yogurt (either non-frozen or frozen) is the real deal. It's loaded with those sexy little probiotic organisms that make me so smitten. I had a small frozen yogurt – half original, half cocoa pebbles with cheesecake topping. It was everything I wanted! Even though all the toppings sound delicious and are a super fun treat, I think I'd rather skip all of it and enjoy the pure taste of real frozen YOGURT!
This place was hoppin' with a line out the door over the weekend. Fits right in in this neighborhood, for sure. Glad I tried it. Spring the extra buck-25 for the specialty/home-made flavors. But be prepared to drop close to $20 between you and your date!
Some fro-yo establishments have come and gone but Culture remains! I have been here twice in the last week even though it is cold outside and allI can say is get the Passover topping special-homemade chocolate covered macaroon crumble and strawberries-RUN don't walk! It si going to get crazy once the weather gets warmer so I am going to savor it while it is still a little chilly out. The blueberry muffins are pretty good-I toast it at home.
I've read a lot of positive Yelp reviews about Culture so I happened to swing by while I was in the neighborhood. I tried a sample of the Chocolate Chip cookie flavor and it had a weird initial taste. Then after a few more licks, it had a subtle hint of chocolate flavor. It gave me a weird vibe in general so I decided to stick to the original flavor, which was a little better. As far as original flavor, it's not as tart as Pinkberry but also not as a sweet as Red Mango. It had a perfect balance of both. But I think the disappointing part was the toppings. I added mochi and dark chocolate chip. The texture of the mochi felt kind of raw. It wasn't chewy like the ones at Pinkberry and Red Mango. They also didn't sprinkle enough dark chocolate chip so it was a bit lame. Pricing is about the same as Pinkberry but to me, there was nothing mind-blowing about this place that's worth a trip here.
I unfortunately don't have much to raid over this place. I guess I need to come when its more flavors to choose from cause the choices I had was regular plain yogurt, strawberry passion fruit & they offered oatmeal raisin but it was out of service. WAHHH!
They did offer a lot of different toppings and even a waffle sundae but I just wasn't crazy about just plain yogurt I enjoy having more choices in flavors cause for that I will just get myself CHOBANI and just add the toppings myself and its the same.
I will give this place another try and maybe in the summer when I hope they have much more flavors to choose from.
Pretty pricey also I paid $12 for just two plain small yogurts with a topping!
I tried the key lime pie topping with original frozen yogurt, so sour!! My friend had the original parfait with mango and strawberry, it was good but everything melted so quickly, we barely were able to have a full conversation and ended up with yogurt soup. I prefer Pinkberry or Red Mango….sad but true.
