Like other reviews say this place is way less sweet and much more creamier than other fro yo places. (brownie points for this diabetic). They have seasonal flavors that change, make sure you see that the flavors are on the wall.
I ordered the Nutella fro yo which was amazing and my friends both ordered the mint with chocolate chip & oreo toppings each. My Nutella once was perfect, the Nutella perfectly sweetened the fro yo, my friends loved their mint fro yo but it might have been just a tad too bitter.
If you've ever had those Korean (or Japanese?) mini yogurt bottle things, it tastes exactly like that. It has a slightly sour and subtly bubble taste.
I love the interior of the place, I think it is very cozy and a great place to catch up with friends.
Star off for price and not very friendly counter service.
Amazing yogurt, though it's on the pricey side. I had the key lime pie combo which involved key lime pie custard and crumbled crust over the original yogurt. The yogurt was super tangy, just the way I like it. The key lime toppings took it from tasty to incredible.
I didn't think I could like another fro yo place besides pinkberry and sweet green(when their froyo machine actually works in nomad area)
But I ve finally found another one-(dj khaled ugh)! Thank you froyo gods!
I tried the original tart and the Nutella but decided on the lychee. It was amazing because it tasted like a cross between the lychee sorbet and lychee ice cream at Chinatown ice cream factory. None of the flavors were too sweet and all of them just a hint of creaminess.
The original tart tasted like Greek yogurt and was just creamy enough not to be overpowering. Unlike 16 handles which tastes both artificial and alike to cheap but bad soft serve, which makes me insanely mad. If I wanted better soft serve ice cream and unhealthy tasting actual ice cream I would just go to mcdonalds or mr softee or DQ. Why is it popping up everywhere when pinkberry is closing !
I will be back if I'm in the area but I hope they open up more stores which are convenient location wise for me.
The original flavor is tangy and the right amount of sweet. Got a special topping – banana cream pie – definitely a great combo. For the price and the size, not sure it blow me away and makes me want to come back for more.
Great selection of flavors, definitely sample a couple before you decide!
Brought a friend with me the second time around so I could truly satisfy my inner chubby child, and I am so glad I did!
There weren't many options to choose from on the daily frozen yogurt flavor list, so we only tried the cherry almond and the original. We based our decision on what we thought would go best with their passion fruit cheesecake topping, and ended up going with the original. I like that the original is perfectly tart and icy, but just creamy enough for a nice mouth feel. It was a perfect pairing with the passion fruit cheesecake! The passion fruit sauce was the highlight of the dessert. It tasted like fresh pureed passion fruit and the tartness really helped to cut the sweetness of the cheesecake. The small was just enough for two individuals (post dinner) to share, but I would have claimed it all to myself if I had the choice!
The young gentleman behind the counter was super sweet and helpful – he was also very generous with our toppings!! I was impressed with his patience with all of the kids running around the store, and ability to engage with us as we were deciding on a flavor and topping. Definitely a positive change from the last time I was here! I can't wait to be back!!
Tangy yet creamy fro yo. We had the peanut butter chocolate and regular chocolate with dark choc sauce. I really enjoyed both flavors but note that toppings are 0.75c each and they barely add anything to the cup (mostly because there's no room in those tiny ass cups….)
My reason for deducting a point: $$$. We ordered the kids size and duh I was expecting a small portion but it literally took me 6 bites to eat the entire cup.
Culture An American Yogurt Company is a cute yogurt shop in West Village/Greenwich Village that offers both fresh and frozen yogurt made from specially selected live probiotic cultures and the freshest local milk. Due to the process of combining yogurt cultures with milk, the yogurts contain live probiotic cultures.
They have a rotating flavor that changes daily. I have tried the Strawberry and Banana Cream Pie, both of which were delicious! Unlike some other froyo shops, Culture's froyo tastes creamier and more tart – it definitely has a more authentic yogurt flavor. The yogurt comes in different sizes like cone, kiddie, small, medium, and large. The froyo melts pretty quickly, so eat fast!
I like real food.
I tend to be one of those label readers, who values quality ingredients I can recognize over those like propylene glycol, which is non deadly antifreeze we still probably shouldn't be digesting. I am however, a realist, and the food industry is unfortunately infiltrated with people who don't care about quality and its effects (and I did grow up on fast food, even though my mother suddenly swears she didn't force feed it to me)…so I don't get crazy. I'm very capable of eating ample hills ice cream every day. I guess I'll stop preaching.
I've never fully examined Cultures' ingredients list, although I'd love to the next time I stop by.
However, the employee offered a full run down of their philosophy in reflecting the best practices of yogurt-making and pastry by using local Hudson Valley milk and Organic Valley whole milk, in addition to their cultured probiotics.
The effort is reflected in its product, as the yogurt is creamy, smooth and tart. (It has seasonal/various flavors that are pretty impressive. I liked the mint and the strawberry passionfruit). They have artisanal toppings, to lower the nutritional value, but greatly increase your pleasure. Even the syrups are house made such as the gooey caramel.
I also appreciate that they put the toppings both on the bottom and top of the cup, so you can have a good bite every time. They clearly care about us 😉 In regards to the price, you pay for quality ingredients. What can we do?
