  1. My boyfriend and I were originally going to come for lunch but arrived 10 minutes before lunch was being served (lunch starts at 11:30AM)! So, we decided to be impatient and opted to order just drinks: a cappuccino and a caramel macchiato. It arrived fairly quickly. The foam on both drinks were perfectly foamy. Both choices were pretty delicious- but nothing that makes them stand out from any other coffee place besides the fact latte art is done on every order. The cappuccino was $3 and the caramel macchiato was $4.50. I guess the prices are relatively a tiny bit cheaper than you can find at other places (so basically +1 for its aesthetically pleasing drinks and price). This place would make a great place to study. The noise level is very low and it's pretty cozy. The tables are spacious and it is pretty well lighted. Its ambience also makes for a great place to go with a date or to catch up with a friend.
Cons: this place closes at 4PM & they're only open Monday- Friday. It's also a tiny bit on the small side but they managed to make very efficient use of the space they do have.

  2. Finally got a chance to go try this lovely cafe in Ktown. The timing was always not right for me. They usually open Monday-Friday until 4 pm and closed on the weekend. But this weekend the store opens on weekends from 12-3 pm. I went there at 2:30pm and ordered a Matcha latte with latte art. I asked the cashier if she can make me a panda or bear latte art. This place only takes cash as payment. I went to sit down and the nice cashier bought me over the Matcha latte with cute bear on it. It was in a paper cup since it was almost closing time. I took a sip and the Matcha latte was delicious. I highly recommend the Matcha latte. No wonder this cafe is so popular for their latte. The cafe is very cozy with good music and lots of wooden table. It's a little dim inside but the bright sun from outside beaming through the window makes its brighter. Great place to hangout with friends. The cashier can make many different latte art. Just follow cup & cup on their Instagram page to see the amazing latte art. Or show a picture to the cashier. Maybe she can do the latte art.

  3. I'm disappointed to say that I was underwhelmed by my visit here.  However, the goal was the bear, and at least the goal was met.

In any case, the ambience.  It was so so.  It was a bit dark towards the back, but at least there was an adequate amount of seating. Not too loud, not super crowded.  It was INCREDIBLY hot though.  For anyone that lives in the area, we all know how hot and muggy it gets and how unattractive these pools of sweat become.  No one wants to go into a facility for it to be the same or worse than the heatwave outside.  I couldn't wait to get out so much that I told my friend who was going to meet me here to choose a different place for me to meet them at.

The only way I can describe the service here is to call it awkward.  They weren't rude by any means, not nice, but for some reason people just seemed confused?  Then I got confused.  I also wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait for my drink, so I stood at the counter.  I realized later though that they will come and give you your drink (oops), which is nice.

Granted, I only got the red velvet latte, so I suppose I don't have much to rate as far as food/drink, but I was pretty disappointed.  I was expecting it to be amazing based on reviews.  It was very plain.  However, I went for the latte art, and got the latte art.  It is a nice bright red, reflecting the bright red powder used for the drink, and has accents of pink as far as gradients of milk get mixed in to the strokes of latte art.

My biggest peeve about this place is that someone was smoking inside.  Why wasn't anything said about this?  Not only is this a health and safety issue, but if I'm not mistaken, indoor smoking has been banned by law… perhaps there isn't a distinction between cigarettes, vaping, etc, but still.  Not my preference… maybe something was mentioned after I left, but in the time I was there and it was (obviously) happening? No bueno.

  4. OH what an adorable place to study/dine! It's such a wonderful concept to transition between two 'businesses' during the day and night because you can really attract/cater to customers with different needs.

I came in the late morning  (closer to 11AM) because I wanted to have an early lunch here as well. The dining area was sparsely occupied and I was able to get a table up front where the lighting is much better and more conducive to reading/writing.

To drink, I ordered a regular latte and requested bear latte art, although the barista said that he could really do anything that I wanted (I'm not that creative). The espresso was nice and strong and the latte art entertained me all throughout my studying.

Lunch begins at 11:30AM, and they offer a variety of entrees, all of which are reasonably priced around $10. I decided to go with the crab and mushroom 'omelette' over rice, which I wasn't a HUGE fan of. Mostly because they use imitation crab (not indicated on the menu) and because the mushroom sauce is basically boiled corn starch and water. I'll be back to try something else though!

They have free wifi and plenty of outlets, but just an FYI wifi is limited to one hr! Too bad they are only open on weekdays until 4PM, because I would love to bring my friends here for a study/hang out session!

  5. They close so early! So far for trying to get work done.

Free wifi for an hour and more seats in the back.

    Cash only.

I came here for a cute cup of matcha latte and enjoyed every sip of it. It's not the best matcha latte I've had, so far Grace Street in Ktown makes the best matcha drinks.

My friend ordered a cold matcha drink and boy are these drinks expensive! They are so tiny too!

  6. Why 2 STARS?

The chicken and eggplant lunch I ordered was not made fresh. The bowl was so hot that I could tell it was microwaved. The sweet and sour sauce for the chicken and eggplant was bleh. I did not like the slimy breading on the chicken either.  Salad was fresh but the name of the dish was called chicken and eggplant. I'm so disappointed that they couldn't get their main dish right.

  7. This place is Take31 during the night and Cup & Cup during the day.
I came here for lunch and it was very reasonably priced. The offer korean and japanese food- katsu curry, miso ramen, omurice etc. I had the onigiri and chicken katsu set, the food was pretty good and was around $9. I also had an iced coffee, I believe they serve La Colombe Coffee here.
There is no table service, so you have to order your food, pay and sit. They will bring your food to you. There is also free water.

  8. Needed some respite from the wkend heat and humidity near where I was and having never been to this cafe, decided it'd be nice to check out something new.

It's a small-ish cafe with a few long tables to share among guests and it seemed like most of the people there had the same idea to get out of the bright sun and wet air while getting work done on their laptops.

I was a bit disappointed though. It wasn't even late and my first two drink choices were unavailable. Not sure if they "sold out" or didn't have the ingredients (in which case they could've easily updated the wall menu), or didn't want to make it. Whatever the case, I went with my third option, which was the Green Tea Iced Latte.

That too was disappointing. Way too much ice the flavors were weak.

Service was barely there but I guess it's not easy manning the whole place as the only employee since there didn't seem to be anyone else behind the counter.

I don't see this place has a "happening" place. If anything, a nice pit-stop to get some shade or if you need a little piece of quiet and calm in Ktown, this might do it for you. But with so many other options, I doubt I'll be back.
