I found my new favorite cupcake shop in the East Village! This cute little spot is hard to miss because of its bright green paint and large storefront sign.
After the very kind and warm lady behind the counter gave me a little background on the cupcakes, I decided to go with a banana bread cupcake with strawberry frosting and a coconut cupcake. Both were so good!
The banana bread cupcake was so moist and fluffy, and the strawberry frosting was so light. I loved the little bits of fresh strawberries on top!
The coconut cupcake was also very moist and perfectly sweet, and the whipped frosting was so tasty with the toasted coconut mixed in.
The cupcakes are very reasonably priced at $3.75 a pop, considering how delicious and large they are. When I asked the lady working if there was a credit card minimum, I was pleasantly surprised when she told me they don't really have one but probably around $5 would be fine.
Can't wait to come back and try out the other flavors!
Location: is this place new?! I guess so cuz I have never seen it before.
This place raised my interest a while ago because its interesting decoration both inside and outside. It's like middle century french bakery shop, which means to locate in a nicer and elegant neighborhood but accidentally chose to be hipster East village.
They have two rooms, one is for flora??!! not sure. The other one is definitely for bakeries. They have all kinds of bakeries, including both big and small cupcakes. And some apple pies, banana bread, cookies, and so on.
You have plenty choices to choose.
I think their huge cupcake is very tempting but … you know you cannot eat sugar all the time.
So I absolutely ended up with a small cupcake.. red velvet
I love their frosting on top of the red velvet. it's structured but not too soft. It gives a sense that frost here is present but with the soft base, the whole structure is likely balanced well.
Service: very nice, very considerate
PRICE: a small cupcake is for almost 2 dollars.
I am not sure if it's cheap or not but it's a great experience to just dine in there.
Overal: I think this is a cool place to visit tho.

I work in Soho and there are some pretty awesome cupcake spots around here. But it was also 90+ degree weather SO WAS DEF NOT LEAVING THE OFFICE. Hopped on GrubHub and searched dessert, and viola I found Cupcake Market. Looked up their reviews and I was blown away at that fact they had 5 stars.
Placed an order and I got the Vanilla, Strawberry, Carrot Cake, and Red Velvet cupcake. Total came to about $15 which I thought was a great deal for the size of the cupcake. The cupcakes arrived in less than 30 minutes!!!
The cupcake are nice and fluffly BUT NOT DRY and the icing has a very smooth taste and not super sweet. The strawberry cupcake had very fresh fruit and the carrot cake was amazing and were my top two fav.
I will be ordering from here again. These cupcakes are so reasonably priced and taste amazing. I plan on dropping by when I am in the neighborhood.
I would rate the cupcakes a 6 out of 10.. it was good, but nothing to rave home about.
None of the cupcakes have filling inside (which is what I prefer) and I do not like the presentation of the cupcakes. Although the icing is a nice whipped butter cream, the actual presentation of the cupcake (specifically the icing), is weak (see pics for reference).
The actual bakery is nice… and clean! The seating area is absolutely adorable and the customer service is fantastic!
If you're in the East Village area, you should check it out, but I wouldn't take a special trip here just for the cupcakes. This place is definitely better than Butter Lane, which is right down the street. However, this bakery unfortunately wouldn't be able to make the cut in "Cupcakes Wars."
This place has very good cupcakes and banana bread. BUT, I am very disappointed by the attitude and service from this place. My friend I came in wanting a Donald Trump cookie. She had been cheated on the night before and was very upset, all she wanted was the goddamn cookie for her mom. It was sitting there in the display. She offer A HUNDRED DOLLARS for the cookie. NOPE. "It's for display only. It's our last one" the woman said. I think this was very disrespectful and for such a high paying customer, they should've sold her the Donald Trump cookie. Can't give them more than 3 stars. She also took 45 minutes to pack everything up for us and there was a line almost forming out of the store.
Oh my god, I've found my new favorite cupcake in the whole wide world (not even an exaggeration) and it's at Cupcake Market. After desperately trying to track down a Pikachu in the LES and failing miserably one night (fml), my boyfriend and I decided to cheer ourselves up with dessert, natch, so we decided to make our way into what I can definitively now proclaim as Cupcake Heaven (trademark pending). Although there are dozens of different sweets you can get, trust me when I say that the only one you really need to get is the Banana Bread Cupcake with Strawberry Frosting.
The banana bread, while totally unexpected for a cupcake base, was also totally, totally, totally delish, moist, and chock full of flavor. There's no way in heck I'm going back to regular cupcake bases after having this winner. That strawberry frosting was (literally) the icing on top too. Not only was it just the right amount of sweetness (I hate those frostings that make you feel like you just bit into diabetes) but it also included pieces of real strawberries and I'm really just a sucker for real fruit in any shape and form. Like, come onnnnnn, how good does that all sound?! Cupcake Market, you are a freaking gem, and you will be seeing me and my fat ass real, real soon!
OMG! YAASS! THESE ARE GREATEST BEST-EST MOST SUPER YUMMY "JUST GET IN MAH BELLY" CUPCAKES EVERRR!!! Yay another place to satisfy my cupcake fix! (I dare say they rival – OK they may be better than – my beloved Butterlane! But alas there's always room in my world for another delectable cupcake!! The more the merrier! ;-)). The cake itself is perfectly moist with just the right density, it's probably one of one best cakes I've had in a cupcake EVER, seriously. (The chocolate cake is unbelievable a dark rich devils food. The vanilla cake is the perfect classic vanilla.).. The frostings… My Oh My.. the strawberry (fresh strawberries in it:-))and vanilla (has vanilla beans in it :-)) buttercream are wonderful as is the rich creamy chocolate ganache icing.. Perfect cake to frosting ratio. The staff is super nice. They did not have the cake frosting combo I wanted.. they made one for me :-). I really really like this place. Cupcakes are $3.75-$4 they have mini cupcakes for $2, and I think worth every penny.. They're that good and they're a generous size.
Been in several times and every flavor I've tried has been delectable.. the cake is so incredibly moist.. The owners (mom and daughter) and staff are the nicest folks. My new favorite cupcake joint for sure :-)! Really good iced tea and lemonade!
New cupcake spot is now one of my favorite places to stop by. It works out… Grab an ice coffee at Abraćo then swing by Cupcake Market and grab a dozen cupcakes for yourself… Who diets now a days anyways…
Seriously if you love cupcakes, this spot is a must. I've tried the Pistachio, Strawberry and Peanut Butter… They are all amazing. I typically only eat the top of the cupcake but because the cake is so moist, I just demolish the whole thing.
Treat yourself and stop by!
