I was pleasantly surprised to find this cupcake shop on ridgewood Ave. It's nice to know cupcakes are becoming so popular! This shop has a great location right by the movie theatre. It's tiny inside but they have a few tables outside. The selection of cupcakes is amazing!!!! I could have just closed my eyes and pointed. I chose a vanilla m&m cupcake which was delicious- the cake was moist, not stale. It was better then the Sweet Revenge, ny one. and this cupcake had a ton of sweet frosting and a bunch of tiny little m&m's, it was smile inducing.
This was so surprising.
Im obsessed with cupcakes… and it is very hard for me to give 5 stars to a place… but my boyfriend and I both agreed that if this place was closer, we would be there all the time. The cupcakes are lighter then most, and baked nicely. But the flavors are delicious. Trouble is, these are the kind of cupcakes were you can eat a few easier then those that are more dense.
I really loved the flavor options at this place. I saw a number of flavors that are a little harder to find, such as Neapolitan, blue velvet, etc.
This place is in a good location. Right next to the movie theater, across from Starbucks, and in an area of Ridgewood where there isn't that much other stuff to walk to for dessert outside of the mostly overpriced Kilwin's, the normal semi-overpriced stuff at Starbucks, and the OK donut shop. They've been open for a good while.
Most people here seem to compare it to crumbs where I think the flavors here are slightly better. The icing is a little thick though and the flavors are not super pronounced. I think I have had a better cupcake also at Ridgewood Coffee Company, but not so much that I'd pay more there.
Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who isn't a super big fan of cupcakes. I like more flavor in my desserts so Grandma's Secret and Sook are well preferred.
NOPE. My cupcake was actually still frozen. Like supermodels at least they have looks going for them.
Their cupcakes are so tasty. The Red Velvets are my favorite.
Red velvet, Curious George (Chocolate, Peanut butter and banana filling). My fav two flavors. This location seems brighter and cleaner than the one in Englewood. I will have to try the newest one in Montclair next. A little pricey, but they have coupons on their websites and specials like $2 Tuesdays.
Can't say I was thrilled…..they were served at a friend's baby shower. Dry….not particularly tasty either.
Red velvet cupcakes were fantastic. Cream cheese icing though? Did not taste like that. Tasted like normal sugar icing.
Also had several others and all were pretty good.
What I liked best was the fact that they tasted fresh, not stale at all which I tend to experience with other cupcake places (no name but starts with a c, end with and s, and the word means mess)
