I go to pharmacy school in Harlem. Why, oh why, wasn't this place open when I was doing my first two years of didactics?! How many late night study sessions would have benefited from these amazing flatbread pizzas??
As it is, I've now graduated and my opportunities to come eat here are limited. However when I do I always order the Brooklyn bridge pizza with extra chili pepper flakes. I want to try the other flavor a, but I just can't bear not to have the Brooklyn bridge. I try to take a friend and talk them into ordering something different so I can try other ones. One of my other favorites is the fig and Gorgonzola cheese one. Simply amazing.
Good thing I'm not too far away. UWS stand up!!
New favorite place!! Pizza is one of my favorite food items and after finding this place, my obsession for pizza has increased substantially.
You have two options, either order an item from the menu or create your own pizza, hence custom pizza. I kept it simply and ordered the buffalo pizza. It's created right in front of you and as it goes down the line you can add or emit whatever toppings you desire. For example, I love a spicy kick to my food but sometimes too spicy makes it hard for me to enjoy my meal. After asking how spicy the buffalo pizza would be they suggested that I not add the sauce which is what makes it extremely spicy. That being said, workers here are great! Extremely friendly and they help you build your pizza.
Prices vary, but I'd say you wouldn't pay more than $8.99 for a personalized pizza that holds 8 squares. Place is clean and they even offer hh (margaritas) for $3, I believe.
P.S. My friend is vegetarian and she was able to enjoy a very delicious veggie pizza as well. How could anyone ever go wrong with a create your own pizza place?!
I stumbled into this place very close to closing. Despite clearly being halfway to lights out, the store that is, they took my order. I was a little out of sorts but knew I could not go home without eating dinner. I quickly recalled someone saying that their Brooklyn Bridge pie was beyond great so I ordered a pie to go.
While one staff member prepped my pie for the oven I noticed a fridge with a full stack of beers. This was unexpected and a good thing to remember for the future. Out came my pie after being finished by a second staff member. A short ride home exposed one thing for sure: the Brooklyn Bridge makes for a delicious pie.
The location is clean, the pies are fresh and the staff was super friendly. Oh, and it was a cheap meal at under $10. It's not gourmet, nor is it fancy but it does taste good. Efficient and fast for a bite on the go.
Unbelievable pizza. Even better service. Our server, Whisper, was an absolute sweetheart to our obnoxious party of 24 people.
I can't believe that I didn't know about this place until recently. Custom Fuel is one of those places where you can get a really good personal pizza (and leftovers because the pizzas are large) for under $10. And yes, they have vegan cheese which I really appreciated.
You walk in, order what you would like go around to see if you would like anything else extra (olive oil, parmesan cheese, all that jazz) and just wait. They also have a combo for a drink and some garlic rolls, which I ordered but they forgot to give me the garlic rolls.
Otherwise, Custom Fuel is a great way to get your pizza customization on, or just add a bit of your own flare to the ones they already have.
The pizza here is quick and good. The staff is nice. They customize your pizza and cook it in front of you. The gluten-free crust is basically the regular gluten-free crust every pizza place that offers it carries and they cut it in half so its a bit smaller than the regular crust. The only complaint I had is that my gluten-free crust wasn't cooked completely…I would suggest running it through the little heater twice. My husband liked his pizza. (Still not as good as MOD here in LA, but definitely worth eating at if you are in the area looking for pizza.
This ain't yall typical pizza spot in Harlem. This not a $1 slice joint!
Can we give out awards to other Yelp Eliters we know in real life for a review that leads to you visiting the establishment and actually loving it???? This pizza was amazing! Life changing!
This award goes to my dear friend, my fellow Harlem Yelper, my MVP, my Mardory.
So dropped in on a Saturday around 6ish and taking my husband in to going with. He ordered the 4 meat pie and added bell peppers. Since I have been studying the menu like a test prior I went with the Brooklyn Bridge. It's a no brainier because they put chili oil on it and ROSEMARY! It took less than 10 minutes for it to be ready and I was shocked. The pizza was pretty darn awesome and even my husband gave it two thumbs up. And he is hard to please when it comes to food. The employees were kind and checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our food and our experience.
The space is pretty decent sized and it appears during the warmer months you can sit outside and enjoy your pizza crafted by God! I think this place has easily become one of my new favs in Harlem because of the fresh ingredients, food is made lightening fast, and the staff is awesome. WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE!!
P.S – They are on Postmates!
The best custom pizza place I've eaten at. This place is so much fun! And I love the ingredients. As soon as I saw rosemary, my knees got weak! Before I even ordered for the very first time, I knew what I'd be having the next few visits.
The one way street line to order was confusing at first, and I did feel a bit self-inflicting pressure as I was creating my pizza.
I love the crust, thin and flaky just how I like it. It held up to all the toppings. NOT flimsy at all, which is the Achilles heel of any flatbread pizza. I got an original crust with pesto sauce, goat and burrata cheeses, roasted red onion, Roma tomato, sausage, and topped with fresh cilantro. It's a long rectangle and cut into 8 pieces. Super fast, too – took less than five minutes to cook
The margaritas are frozen and flavorful. They also have a rum punch and dollar off happy hour (4-7pm)…next time…
My only regret is not trying this place sooner!!
