“The fries were solid, definitely homemade, and the pinwheel was delicious and unlike any other sausage I've ever had.”
“Sweet potato fries were also great, though I thought the price was a little much for the portion.”

New Years Eve me and the G headed out to our favorite burger spot only to find it closed for the evening. NO!!!!!!!
So the alternative was D'Allessandro's which had come highly recommended to G from a friend. I did not read the reviews, we only went on the recommendation. Very bad mistake.
So this place sits in a corner location in the middle of the Bell Blvd bar crawl scene. When we arrived there was just one table filled, then it was us, then another couple came in and that was it.
The menu is all over the place with prices and different meats so there is something for everyone's budget if you really want to waste your money. Oh yes I went there.
We are not sure of the name of the gentleman that waited on us, as he really did not introduce himself. He was however very interested in up selling appetizers as he asked us before our order, and then again when he brought the drinks to the table. I did ask for and explanation of the bacon cheese burger vs. the sirloin burger with just added cheese. I was told that the bacon cheese burger had bacon and cheese in with the meat. That sounded super tasty as I have made something similar in the past. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger, G – well done, Me – medium well. We also ordered the Mac n Cheese and the onion rings to share. The food was delivered promptly and that was about the best thing I can say about the meal.
Here's how the meal went:
Bacon cheeseburgers – both delivered well done and did not look anything like a butcher shop burger unless your idea of butcher shop burger is mass production. This burger had edges too perfect. This could have been a Burger King burger mass produced meat patty had I not known better. I did ask the gentleman where the burgers came from and was told "they come fresh to us every morning from our butcher shop". The burger was cooked dry, no juiciness in sight, no flavor to the meat and barely any bacon flavor. If there was cheese in this burger I did not taste it at all. I ate the dried out meat patty with no flavor, I was hungry.
Onion rings – definitely frozen, but they were ok. Salt them up, and frozen are even pretty ok if your hungry.
Mac n Cheese – I am from the south, and my first look at this bowl of stuff was, SERIOUSLY…what is that? Southerners know at least two food items really well…Mac n Cheese and homemade biscuits…oh…and sweet tea, but that's a drink so that doesn't count, any way, back to this so called Mac n Cheese. It was pasta al dente with cheese sauce which was somewhere between the flavor of Nacho Cheese sauce from Taco Bell, Velveeta and CheezWhiz. Now don't get me wrong, a lot of recipes do call for Velveeta in there Mac n Cheese, but they also include other grated cheeses in the recipe and after it's all combined it's BAKED. When you get that lovely first bite you get creamy cheese and those strings of melted cheesy goodness. And let's not forget the coveted crispy cheesy top crust. So back to the so called Mac n Cheese. I did try the stuff, at least three bites. It was just awful and although the pasta was fully covered with this cheese sauce, the sauce was also pooling at the bottom of the bowl. I asked the gentleman what kind of cheese was in the Mac n Cheese, he said "it's a homemade cheese sauce, don't you like it"? I said no, not really. He said, "we sell 12 pounds of this stuff each day." I said, well, to each his own, I really don't care for it.
At the end of the meal, the waiter did bring out complementary fried double stuff Oreos. G said he was probably trying to be nice since I didn't like the Mac n Cheese. The fried Oreos are on the menu, but again, unless you want to waste your money, I would NOT recommend those either. They were awful. We did not eat them.
The best part of this meal was the soda and the onion rings. I did visit the bathroom and it was clean. I have given 2 stars but that's only because I actually tortured myself and ate the burger without complaining. Had I opted out of the torture burger I would have given this place a 1 star.
We will not be back.
I tried this place for the first time and was a little disappointed. Mainly, with what I ordered though… I for some reason ordered the Chicken Parm sandwich and to me it just seemed not well done. However, the fried zucchini were yummy and my sisters and aunt enjoyed their wraps and hotdogs… Maybe I'll need to go back and try the philly cheesesteak so I can change my review 🙂
Now I've only had take-out from here, but how many times do you order beer battered onion rings and by the time you get home they are soft?? When I order from here they are always perfectly crunchy when I get home! That means they are actually cooking to order, unlike other places who skimp on the take out meals! I've had the ribs as well and the meat falls off the bone!! They use a nice rub and a little sauce on their ribs which is delicious and they aren't overloaded with sauce. The pulled pork is very good too. There mac and cheese is good, but not mixed with cheesy sauce well enough. The chili cheese fries are very good, nice amount of chili on top. I've eaten take out about three times so far and its consistently good.
WARNING: The online menu is outdated, and the current prices are at least $4-5 more per item. Three comments on our food from Friday night: 1) $8 for 5 tiny mozzarella sticks? Really?? 2) The Philly cheese steak pizza's crust is actually just a sandwich wrap. They like to skimp on ingredients. 3) The bacon mac'n'cheese was bland. How is that even possible? Save your time and money, go someplace else.
I've only done delivery from this place, as it is near where I work.
Delivery. Over an hour to deliver and it's only about 1/2 mile away. The driver called me while I was already in class and had the audacity to ask if I would come to the gate. When I spoke to them on the phone they said they were familiar with QCC and that they go through the gate and say delivery for Professor H, (I used my full name) they could park and then head right up to my building. So I told that again to the driver and he reluctantly trudged up the stairs and threw the food at my friend who had to get it for me because, as I said, I was in class.
I ordered the Nutella shake which was really good, but not blended that well so I kept getting chunks of Nutella stuck in my mouth and throat while I was trying to teach. I saved the Italian Chicken burger for today. Pretty good for overnight refrigeration, but it had a weird taste, as though the chicken they used was on the last day, ground without any spice and then doctored with breadcrumbs and egg for binding before frying. The bun was surprisingly not soggy and the bottom bun was super tasty.
Price. The menus are outdated and have the wrong price. I was expecting to pay $22 maybe $24 with tax….cost me a bit over $27 for two Nutella shakes and a chicken burger.
I may have to try more from this place to gauge what it's really like, perhaps I will go there soon.
A casual but modern space that is warm and inviting. The girl behind the register was very friendly and quite attentive, delivering our food to the table and keeping tabs on us.
The sweet potato fries were awesome, really the best I have ever had. The pulled pork sandwich was tender and tangy and paired well with the potato roll (you have a choice of bread). The chicken BLT wrap was tasty with the chicken being juicy and the bacon crisp, it really hit the spot. Another plus is that fountain drinks have free refills.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I walked in, but I was more than pleasantly surprised.
one star for cleanliness, design of the restaurant and friendly service.
really wanted to take my bf to press 195 since he was craving a burger and I really wanted the delicious fries. I totally forgot bareburger was down the block and came here instead since the price for a burger was decent as we saw the menu from the outside. little did we know … only one older woman was sitting by herself in the whole establishment, no one else and only 3 workers (1 was Joe the manager). the burger was super small like a Wendy's burger for the price of $7+. everything here was a la carte so everything added up to mucho dinero!
check out my pictures for what we got and the receipt picture. not worth it, food was so bland and expensive. spent $40 with tax and tips for 2 people for lunch. for a burger, fries, bacon mac and cheese and a hot chocolate.
seriously how does this place survive for so long on a bell blvd corner?
