  1. Great cheap breakfast.  The staff is really nice and everyone seems to be on a first name basis with the customers.   It's great to see a neighborhood green like this still hang around.   The service is fast and friendly.   The food is typical breakfast cuisine with great values.

  2. D&D Coffee Shop is friggin awesome.  Great Food well executed.  Friendly service.  Super fast service between when you order something to when it gets to your table.  You see the managers running around whipping people into shape.  That's what I want to see from my Diner.  This place has everything I want when looking for breakfast and do not have time to waste.  I have a soft spot for simple foods done right at affordable prices.

The outside of the restaurant is unassuming you'd almost pass it for a hardware store. Inside the space is very large with lots of booths and a lunch counter.  Though I didn't try it this time they have specialty lattes to order which I thought was kind of cool.  The diners there were all regulars and you can tell they've eaten there for years, which is always reassuring.

We ordered the special blueberry and strawberry pancakes with whipped cream and a three egg white wrap with feta cheese and red peppers.  The pancake was nicely done, soft, not overly sweet and there was a hearty portion.  The egg white wrap was the art of finesse executed in a tiny package, the feta perfectly complements the eggs and there is a meaty chewiness that makes you not miss the meat, the wrap was served with a side of homefries which was done well but I wasn't crazy about, next time I would ask for a substitute.

We're definitely going to be back.

  3. Came here for a late brunch durin the wkday. Its not the typical brunch plate like eggs benedict and such but its diner (good) food. Its a busy cafe since its near the hospital servin all diff shift hrs medical professionals. I had their omelettes the two times i've been here and they were yummy. Service was great as soon as u walk in the door they smile and greet u. I didnt even hafto ask for water and she gave us and said "just incase." Place is clean and we watched the guys pack takeout and delivery orders so quickly. Good food and good service.. Cant ask for more.

  4. A great neighborhood diner!

By all means, do not go out of your way to come here, but if you're in the area, this is a solid choice for a quick meal.

The outside of the restaurant and the decor inside could use a lot of work, but the staff is overall friendly and attentive and the food is good. The coffee is a bit watery, but there are free refills on hot and cold coffees!

We shared a fried chicken platter and it was good — juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside. I also had the burger and it was huge. They don't skimp on the toppings either. And the fries were perfectly crisp. They have a huge menu with all your standard diner food choices, and some creative specials as well.

If you're craving good ol' American diner fare, this is a perfect choice!

  5. I came here for an early breakfast one day, decided on seven grain French toast. It was simple and good (topped with sugar), went great with the coffee! The service was pretty good too, looks like a family owned place? It looks like any other old school diner and seems like there's a good mix of people who eat here, always a win in my book!

I think it's good for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area. The food isn't anything amazing, but it's good food and prices are decent. This place can be easily missed, but then again it's the only diner along those couple of blocks. I wouldn't mind coming back if I'm in the area and looking for a place to eat.

  6. Great little shop with a ton of options! i tried their breakfast sandwich (it costs $1 for poached eggs or if you want an english muffin…boo!) which was pretty good. the breakfast specials comes with hot coffee and a small glass of OJ. Prices aren't bad. friendly service. conveniently located right next to the train.

  7. If your stuck at Maimonides hospital like I was for 4 days for the birth of my son (dad), this is your best food option. No frills, just good diner food. Very old school Brooklyn.

  8. Went here for breakfast on a Sunday. Lots of people were here with their kids, and it seemed like a lot of people that live in the area, which is a really good sign. The waitresses were awesome, really nice and attentive. The decor was a little dated but who cares? It was super clean. I had chocolate chip pancakes and the mr had a hangover omelette which came with really good home fries. Both came with free orange juice. We both left with full bellies and big smiles.
