An amazing wine selection and an adorable restaurant. So why only three stars? Mediocre pizza. And I wanted to get the carbonara but the waiter told me to get the mushroom truffle parpadelle instead. Since the brought out the carbonara by accident, I tried it and turns out it was better.
Intended to go to place across the street but it was too busy, so ended up here. They had no space for us walk ins, so kindly brought a table from the basement so we could sit.
The food was outstanding. Started with a sublime pizzette w just marinara, and I have to say it was perfect. The squid ink pasta was fresh flavorful. It had no fishy taste or smell, yet was so fresh.
The service was beyond outstanding, and The ambiance dark and quaint and even though crowded (it's small) it was no noisy.
A big recommend.
Charming Da Tommy scores a home run food wise- open for lunch with a $16 prix fixe menu of a pasta and salad or pasta and dessert. Went for lunch.
Ate: Manhattan salad
Spaghetti Carbonara
Lava cake- not included $10 extra
Crusty bread with lemony olive oil is oh so good. The salad with kale ricotta and avocado is tasty. The Carbonara is pasta of the Gods- perfection! Not to be outdone by the chocolate lava cake which is a light soufflé with a dollop of ice- cream and is superstar worthy- one of the two best desserts I've eaten so far in 2016.
Da Tommy is a cute little Italian spot. The food is amazing.. The place was jam packed on a Saturday night so you know the food has to be good. Everything was delicious. The tartufo pizzette was one of our favorites. Their pasta dishes were on point. I recommend this spot. I also like that they play house music.
