I did not like this place. The miso soup had a smoky flavor. It was very old school. Early 80's sushi selections and the vibe was also anachronistic. Not my cup of tea.
Still one of my fave sushi spots for great sushi.
Sushi pizza is still amazing and I can't seem to venture off my fave tsunami roll . rising sun is good as well
Hrs are odd- I posted a photo so you can see the hours
We enjoy trying new restaurants, had a groupon so decided to give it a spin. The exterior is very cute while the exterior is a bit dated but we thought it added to the charm. It is a small restaurant with (7) four tops, (2)two tops and sushi style bar seating for 10+ customers.
I got the pink blossom and the tsunami which were both surprisingly good ( recommend then). Hubby got the jersey and fireball, he liked the fireball but stole almost half if my pink blossom roll, so that was his favorite.
Presentation was beautiful and ginger was white, not the pink processes garbage. Waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Overall we liked it but will continue to eat sushi at Fuyiyama mama in Westfield, they have more specialty rolls and the price point is similar. We spent $77 before tip. Our food included two specialty rolls each, shared pork gyoza, shared sea urchin sushi and horse makeral sushi, and free hot tea. When we pick up at Fuyiyama mama, we get gyoza, two specialty rolls each and two cheap rolls, and 2 bubble teas and spend around $75. We felt the fish was higher grade and there was more variety in specialty rolls than Daimatsu.
Very good sushi and very nice people. Cozy and BYO.
I discovered this restaurant through LivingSocial promotion. I am very surprise at how fresh their sushi/sashimi were! This place is probably one of the best places for sushi around the area. I was amazed to see that they have takoyaki (octopus balls) – I have never saw this anywhere outside of Saint Marks (NYC)!
Personally, the dishes are priced very normal for sushi. Will definitely come back when craving for sushi!
On the plus side, it is BYOB.
