I started coming here more consistently again after a bit of time away this and this already awesome diner has gotten even better. Their service for the most part is excellent, with attentive wait staff and a present manager who greets patrons and regularly checks on tables to make sure everything is okay. My favorite thing about Daisy's is their breakfast. Their eggs, potatoes, pancakes, coffee, even their toast is delicious and just right. It's the best diner around hands down. Its so good it should be a tourist attraction. I love it here.
Daisy's diner is one of those typical NYC or in this case Brooklyn diners. It serves the obligatory breakfast menu, the egg menu, the sandwich menu, the burgers and anything else you heart might want in one place. The banquette seating the bar seating the table seating they have it all and right on 5th Ave in Brooklyn.
It is a casual place to grab some food and be on your way. No fuss.
Starving at 1am? THIS IS THE DINER TO BE AT! Just your average diner, but it is open super late and the owner is SO FRIENDLY! Amp up the stars just because he kept checking up to make sure the waters were filled and that the food was good. Cheap, no frills, and SUPER QUICK SERVICE! The portion are pretty big here too. I loved the spunky old school decor, reminds me of someones grandma's house – COZY (haha!).
This place is so run down I feel dirty when I have come here. The seats are all ripped up, usually it's dirty, and there is a smell of old oil. I've come here twice , only because I had forgotten how bad the first time was. If you come here at night it's like they cook on old grease. It tastes like bowling alley food at best. Beware if you eat from here.
This is a great, simple diner with good prices. After I had a recent shift ending at midnight, I was really craving a vanilla milkshake. Thankfully, Daisy's is always open late serving food, which I find is one of the few doing so in the area. I also ordered some chili cheese fries because of course that was totally unnecessary but delicious. I've come here before pretty wasted and had some delicious late night breakfast to soak up some alcohol and save me from a wretched hangover. The food isn't like 5 star or anything but it is way better than like a Denny's and gets the job done when you are starving during late hours.
Wow, whatever happened to the service here? I was ignored several times. My order was wrong, they failed to refill my coffee and water. Had to get up twice to ask for help. Seriously terrible service. I will go elsewhere,this diner made me feel invisible.
++
– They get some stars for being open 24 hours
– They also get points for their portion sizes
+/-
– This place is only good to fix your drunken hunger
–
– My fried chicken wings weren't even done
– I've had better mozzarella sticks from Krasdale
It's a diner. It's open 24 hours. Temper your expecations.
Our waitress was this kind old lady who called everyone "hun" and was just the sweetest.
The food was okay. I did a "New Yorker" wrap, stuffed to the gills with corned beef, pastrami and American cheese. It was actually a gargantuan amount of food. So price-to-food ratio wise, pretty good. Taste-wise, not anything to write home about.
But hey, sometimes it's 11pm and you need dinner.
