OMG!!! I didn't even get seated yet and got hit with the D-R-A-M-A! While waiting to be seated a hefty woman with a too short dress started coming after another guest with her baby in her arms yelling and cursing, making the biggest scene; while the hostesses just stood there and looked at them. I'm telling you this lady could've been heard down the block and no matter how many time the girl apologized the woman got louder and kept talking about the principle.
So we finally got seated thinking we're safe. Nah, they sit the woman roght behind us and surprise surprise the girl she wanted to beat down was sitting on the other side of us…. wait for it…. BOOM, 10 minutes later Bertha is up in the girls mother's face at their table telling her why she thinks her daughter is a MITCH. After 5 minutes of back and forth yelling and a little boy (maybe 10 ) ready to break a Coronita bottle and go after Bertha, management decided to show up. They calm things down a bit but my 8 yr old was not too thrilled with the environment or Bertha's dress and the table off to the side was recording the whole thing so I'm sure its probably on World Star.
The food was BBQs food… but everyone comes for the drinks… there was so much activity I can't even remember what I drank but I know for sure it wasn't strong enough for that foolishness. It wasn't a pleasant visit at all and sadly everything we expected the junction location to be. And all the bathrooms being located in the basement even when they have a second floor is foolery!!!
This was defintely a Father's Day to remember, smdh…
This place is near my apt. When some friends came by to help me say goodbye to Flatbush (I was moving the next day) we thought it would be fun to order some BBQ's.
Keeping in mind that this is BBQ's (I'm not new to the BBQ's game. I came of age in the '90's this is retro for me) my expectations realistic. I mean, let's keep it really real, it's BBQ's. The food here is mediocre at best. At best.
I ordered the crab cakes–which were not cakes, but balls. That's fine, but they should say that on the menu. They had a weird refrigerator taste. Like something that was pre made days ago, deep fried, had some sauce slapped on it and served. Which, of course that's exactly what happened. Just meh. The onion loaf is usually pretty good—this time also sort of meh. The cornbread is always tasty for not homemade corn bread.
When "dining" at BBQs you should know what you're getting into, mediocre food served quickly.
Yeah, just no. I'm not sure if it's because I have a truly sensitive and refined palate or that this they just really have very very bad food.
Came here with some friends last night (Not my choice of restaurant). Firstly the maitre d' gave us a whole bunch attitude because our whole party wasn't there at the same time. She's like well, whoever is not here will have to get their own table separately. Um, woman, no. Why wouldn't we want to sit with our friends? Especially when the place was not packed at all.
Finally we were seated and our server took our orders. The drinks were fun, huge and alright. But the food, well, I just really have no words for horse crap. From the salad to wings to soup. Absolutely inedible.
I doubt I'd ever step foot in here again.
Been here a few times. Good spot to grab a quick bite to eat and have drinks . I must say one thing that is really upsetting about most locations is their seating process . They could be completely empty and still squeeze you into a corner with a table your food can barely fit on. The service is pretty much hit or miss and staff doesn't seem too happy. Would not recommend if you don't like noise can be very loud. But great for a quick lunch or dinner or birthday . Prices are great pretty inexpensive and food is good. Not to mention great Texas size frozen drinks for a great price !
People keep forgetting that this is BBQs.
Pretty much a version of your favorite fast food restaurant that serves liquor.
This location comparable to the Times Square location.
2 floors of seating & spacious.
Screens on the walls playing popular music videos (recent & old).
Clean for the amount of traffic that comes through on a daily basis.
When it first opened & I would drive by, I was turned off by the huge windows on the lower level. Who ever is outside waiting for the bus or just walking along can look in at your plate.
Just sit upstairs, you can people watch & not have people watch you.
After almost stepping on someone's run away kidWe were seated right away.
For a Friday night it wasn't really crowded, but it could be because it was Valentine's Day weekend.
Our waitress Melissa was very nice & attentive.
She checked in with us, but not too much where it got annoying.
The kitchen messed up & gave us fries instead of rice.
Wasn't her fault, she repeated our order back to us.
When she came over to our table afterwards, she realized the mistake & brought us our rice.
I don't have to go Downtown Brooklyn anymore, which is nice!
The drinks are not strong, and the food is horrible. It took forever for us to get our check and the place wasn't even packed. It was a rip off and a waste of time.
First we were seated at a table that was dirty.
Then I had to literally track someone down to come clean the table. TWICE.
And it didn't stop there. We kept having to find our waitress [Rebecca] to serve us. We literally waited 30 minutes for our check and to-go containers.
Turns out, gratuity was included in our check (after 8:30 pm, all parties are charged gratuity). That explains it the horrible service. This is the problem with mandatory gratuity. Service will suffer because they're getting a tip anyway.
We split the bill. Half in cash, the remainder on a card. She charges the card for the full amount. As if she was looking to pocket the $51 in cash.
Doubt I'll return. Service at the Manhattan locations is always better.
It's Dallas BBQs! You know what you are going for and what to expect and this location delivers every time. I've been to this location a few times since it's open and it hasn't been packed. I get seated right away I usually go at night so maybe that's why. The host is usually blah, the wait staff is usually very friendly and checks up on you often. The food is always consistent. You get just what you ask for and you get it quickly. The drinks are great as always. I mean the drinks are really the reason you go to BBQS. Unlike many other locations this one is not setup like a cafeteria like the one downtown and at Times Square. You can actually sit and eat without accidentally touching your neighbors food or unintentionally entering their conversation. You know, it's almost like a real restaurant instead of a lunchroom.
