  1. I always had a great time whenever we dined at Dallas BBQ in Chelsea. For some reason, despite its many restaurants we only tend to dine here.

We are always conveniently seated with little or no wait at all. The Texas style fried chicken wings is our default appetizer, partnered with Texas size frozen margarita with a single shot of Tequila. We always wondered how could they make a chicken wings as big as these!

For the entrée, we chose from the combo meal that includes steak, baby back ribs and crispy fried shrimps served with cornbread and home style French fries. It was delicious and filling – enough for two people.

With its great service and good value, I would probably dine here more often, if it wasn't for fatty, sugary and salty overload.

  2. The food is mediocre and so is the service. The bathroom smells like the food everyone ate! If you want large drinks…then yeah go here!

  3. Yeah its Dallas BBQs. you come in here and the food portions are huge! Burger onion loaf Texas size Drinks The Chicken wings you will be full after you leave here. Come here on the weekends and you will probably have to call ahead i think to get a table because it gets JAM Packed. the staff is very nice and make sure you are taken care of here.

You get  a Texas Sized drink you will get a good buzz though! get an extra shot too!

  4. does the fact that i dined at dallas bbq undermine my credibility here on Yelp? hmm, i clearly don't think so as i'm writing this review with the intent of posting . . .

what can i say? my s.o. and i attempted to gallery hop in chelsea one saturday, but for whatever reason, most of the galleries were closed. fail.

with some time to kill before our next social event, we decided to grab a drink somewhere. we were on our way to the trailer park lounge (i swear we have our classy moments!) when we passed by dallas bbq and had an "ah-ha" moment. or a "why the hell not" moment, rather.

as a texan, i've managed to avoid dallas bbq the past five years of my life here in nyc. so, yes, why the hell not?

dallas bbq is as franchise-looking and feeling as you'd expect. faux-leather seating. booths on booths on booths. a huge space that only the likes of franchise giants can afford. kind of makes ya feel like your soul is dying, honestly.

but then. the margaritas come out. and the wings. the texas crispy wings. and immediately, your empty soul is full once again. full of all things epic.

listen, i'm not ever going to order bbq here. never. because i just can't bring myself to do that. ya know, being texan and all. however, the fact that i can order a big-ass margarita and just 5 crispy wings (to share!) and feel like i've had an out-of-body experience? that's winning. thank you, dallas bbq. or as my s.o. says, "bbq's".

three stars, tho, cause that ambiance is a bit too depressing for my taste. but, i will say that the staff was super friendly and helpful! i guess that balances everything out, no?

  5. My out-of-town friends LOVE this place and always request it as a pit stop during their visits. As a Brooklynite, I remember when there were only TWO Dallas BBQs–East 72nd and CPK/72. I've sampled practically everything on their menu except the seafood and burgers. They're always packed with locals hanging in the city and tourists. I'm a fan solely of the Texas-sized daiquiris which you never go wrong as it always guarantee a slight buzz–especially if you get an extra shot.

BBQ | Chicken: if you're looking for inexpensive bar-b-que, BBQs is your spot. Their baby back ribs are smothered in bar-b-que sauce which render them messy but decent. The rotisserie chicken is really fall-off the bone good and the price point is appealing. [Sidebar: If you're a TRUE connoisseur of the art, stick to a real BBQ smoke house as NY finally has a few southerners that have opened up shop all around Bklyn and NYC].

WINGS: I think these wings are GMO and pumped full of steroids but man-o-man, there quite good. You won't go wrong ordering the fried or sticky wings. They even have a Hennessey based.

For the person looking for a quick bite, a good frozen drink, some wing and some amazing Jiffy-like cornbread, make a stop at Dallas BBQs. You'll see me there only when I have out-of-towners.

  6. This place is awesome!  I came here with a bunch of people and I'm so glad one of my friends introduced me.  As I was looking for this place to yelp, I had no idea they had more than one location which is really cool!  I could imagine they do though, because it seemed like a pretty hoppin place when I went.  Their drinks are SO good.  I didn't think it was unreasonable prices for what we got.  Their food is absolutely delicious.  Our waiter was so nice to us, too.  This place gets 5 stars, and I don't give those out often.  There is nothing bad to say about this place at all.  Although, if you can't walk downstairs – that's where the bathroom is.

  7. I feel like the various Dallas BBQ chains throughout Manhattan are not very consistent. While the other two locations I have visited were stellar, this one the food I ordered felt like a joke. The service was fine and our waitress was very patient with us even when we stalled trying to figure out what to order after one of my friends tried to order mac n' cheese… when it wasn't on the menu. The drinks and food all came out pretty promptly so no complaints there. My biggest issue was with the beef ribs.

In the other locations, beef ribs are my absolute favorite. Nowhere else in the city can you get 4-5 huge slabs of beef ribs for $15.99. It's absolutely preposterous to find that deal anywhere else. I think Mighty Quinns or the other big name stores all sell the beef ribs at around $30 a pound. So imagine my disappointment when they bring out the dish and, while it looked massive, was just a collection of the end rib bones. When eating a normal rib, you would slice through the meat length wise and chew off the meat, especially for a beef rib. The meat here was cooked so thoroughly it was impossible to get any of the meat off the bone unless you completely dirtied your hands. Okay, fair point that I don't ever use my hands when eating bbq: always use my fork and knife. Even so, you should expect the meat to come off when slicing it.

Trying to eat this thing was such an ordeal that I made a joke that it was taking me more calories than I was actually consuming. Even though I was still hungry, I didn't have time to finish the meal and ended up having to take a chunk of it home. It was such an irregular cut of meat that I'm afraid of ordering it again, anywhere else. I think I will not take my chances and just hit up Daisy May's if I ever want Beef Ribs again.

  8. Writing a review for this location because the Pineapple crush was A++++++ not too sweet like the other frozen drinks it goes down a treat.  As a side we ordered wings and rotisserie chicken.  The rotisserie chicken was surprisingly very good the fries were just ok– they should try offering fresh cut fries. Wings were as usual.
