  1. This appears to be a somewhat dingy little shop with Italian ingredients on the shelves, but the deli is great. It would be nice if they posted prices on things, like the homemade pastas in their freezer section.

We picked up chicken parm and a pasta salad the other night for dinner, and it was all delicious. Prices seemed fair, and we look forward to trying more stuff in the future. I didn't check out any of the bakery items, but it looked like they had a fantastic selection.

  2. I love Dante's! I've been here several times for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, i always get a bacon, egg and cheese (bacon well done) and they do it right. Sometimes, they run out of rolls so you might want to make sure you're here early if you like your breakfast sandwich on a plain roll.

Their coldcut sandwiches are huge! They are a bit pricey but you get a great amount of food for what you pay. I have tried a few of sandwiches from their menu but I really love the typical italian combo, perfect and VERY filling.

They have a big list of specials almost everyday. They have fresh food made daily including pasta salad, potato salad, caprese salad, cold pasta, etc.

  3. Great Italian Deli. They make excellent Sandwiches, my favorite is of course, the Italian. They gave great homemade mozzarella too! salads and other sides are great too! A favorite place to pick up a sandwich on game day!

  4. The sandwich and the value knocked my socks off. I got the Italian with everything on a 6" wheat sub roll and it was great. Full of meat, not shy with the condiments and the fact that it was on a wheat roll made me feel a tad healthier about it all. When a deli offers a variety of breads and rolls, I swoon but that's a personal preference. When the old man behind the counter told me I owed $5.75, my jaw dropped. I think the last time I paid that for a sandwich was over 5 years ago.

Dantes is a gem without a doubt.

  5. This is an excellent Italian deli in River Edge.  The mozzarella with the prosciutto and roasted pepper sandwich is outstanding if you are hungry and need a great lunch. They pile on the prosciutto!!! I also like to buy boxes of their frozen ravioli to keep in the freezer for those nights when you don't feel like cooking.
