  1. My first time at a David's Tea was today, and it was a positive experience! It's really a to-go kind of place, so don't expect to find seating – there is none (at least not at this location.)
David's Tea cradles the border between a Starbucks of tea and a trendy Argo. They also cradle the border between 3-stars and 4-stars (we'll say 3.5 on this one.) They have a wall full of tea, incentives for bringing your own mug and member discounts which is a big plus.

Looking at their exhaustive tea collection is enough to intimidate any would-be tea lover. With so many variations, blends, roasts, etc it's easy to quickly find yourself indecisive. Luckily, the staff here are some of the friendliest people ever and not only have NO problem letting you sniff every begotten tea on the wall, but INSIST on it and pull more and more without you even asking, offering their sound expert advice on what you should put in yo' face.

One thing that was outstanding was the price, the cheapest loose leaf was about 6$/oz which is expensive in itself, however the average tea I found to be 8-9.50$/oz! Yikes.
They say you get what you pay for, however – and this tea is testament to that if nothing else. It's quality. But for double+ the price elsewhere, it better be!

  2. Staff has always been helpful when deciding on a tea. The establishment is clean.

    CONS:
Does not have a comfortable seating area
Not a wide selection of organic teas

  3. I like the fact that you can smell all the teas they have.
And that some of them are organic and/or fairtrade.
The Manager there is super good in sales, you get in the shop to buy a small quantity of one single tea and you go back home with 6 different teas and maybe also a tea pot.
They are always nice though, all of them. And they always offer a glass of tea.
Prices are quite high, but it's good to have some special teas at home.
One of my favorite when I am on a diet it is the chocolate and rose roibos tea, after dinner you drink a cup of that, you smell chocolate and for your brain it's like you ate a dessert.

  4. I've been to David's in san Francisco and Chicago, and this has the same feel and features. This store has a wider open space than others. Friendly staff as usual. A couple of samples to try. They always have a few things on sale, and a lot of things around or after the holidays. It's not inexpensive, but it's good stuff, and still less than having fresh tea in a single serving from a store. They have have hundreds of flavors and  will pull down as many as you want to smell.

  5. I am a little bit of a tea snob. Well, not all the time, but when I have lazy weekend coming up and really want to relax, I always reach for that special box of white tea…

DavidsTea is a specialty shop, and pretty good one at that.
Great tea selection, from white to rooibos to herbals. Over 150 of them.
I know, I know, it is sooo hard to choose. But you know what? They do tea tastings! You can try a shot glass of special of the day, and buy large cup of it at decent price, hot or cold, your choice.

After you ohhhhh and ahhhh over that cup of good tea, get some loose leaves to bring home. And if you need any accessories, or gifts for tea lovers, they will help you out!

Blue Lagoon herbal blend was pretty fantastic.

Great store to spoil yourself with great tea, find rare blend, or pick up a gift for special someone.

  6. Every morning I have my sacred ritual: I get out the tea leaves and brew myself a fresh pot.  It's just nice to start the day with an explosion of flavor (and caffeine) instead of the watery blandness produced by a grocery store tea bag. I was wary of buying tea from a chain store, but when I was out of tea and in the neighborhood, I ended up drinking the David's Tea kool-aid, or tea, as it were. It's a little too sterile looking and lacks the atmosphere and authenticity that can be found at my favorite tea shops (McNulty's being one of them), but they hooked me with their pure chai.  I ended up coming back and buying a canister of it once I got through a 2 oz bag.  Yes, the sales people are very cheery, but they have all the tea they can drink at their fingertips and are well-caffeinated, so I think that's to be expected.  I'm not crazy about their wacky novelty teas (there was a fall blend that contained pumpkin shapes sprinkles, for instance, and a Christmas variety I tried had little bits of popcorn in it), but their more classic teas are good quality.  The staff encourage you to get your nose in the canisters and deeply inhale the scent of the tea, and that's when I was totally swept up.  They also have a good selection of gift items (Husband, if you're looking for something to get me, this is a hint).   I'm not a David's Tea devotee, but I'm definitely a fan.

  7. So tea flavors like chocolate chili chai, red velvet, and many more await your nose and belly.

The place is bright and has soothing teal tones for its main logo. They offer a limited but useful supply of tea containing and making devices and even have a moose tea cup that hints at their Canadian roots.

I had a cold 911 here which is like drinking a halls inside of a chamomile /yogi tea blend especially when honey is the sweetener. Not too bad considering my illness is masking flavors a bit. Hopefully this will bring my voice back to par.

    I think I'm gonna be a regular here…

  8. All about the customer service they are very friendly and make really knowledgeable recommendations. I enjoyed the super ginger and gogi
