I came here while i was giving a tour of the city to some friends from out of town. Its an average cafe but what makes it stand apart is that there are several tables available to sit and chat. Especially in the time square area, nice quite places are extremely limited. Please note that i did expect more from a cafe being that it was in that area, but i think it is a great place to sit and talk with friends. I would recommend Dean & DeLuca.
I would rate Dean & DeLuca as follows: Food Quality is 3 Stars, Atmosphere is 4 Stars and Prices is 3.5 Stars.
The views expressed are of my own and are my true personal experience at this establishment. My personal experience may not reflect this actual establishment, their quality or someone else's experience at the establishment.
Mango Smoothie was pretty delicious but a low value at $5.
Service was quick and there was plenty of seating at a few minutes after 10 on a Friday morning.
They have Doughnut Plant donuts here.
(Get the tres leches!)
& pretty awesome iced chai.
That is all.
Surprisingly reasonably priced for a coffee shop & cafe located near Rockefeller Center. On a recent visit, my husband and I ordered two large iced coffees and a muffin for about $10.
The ice coffee was everything I wanted. It was large, strong and refreshing. We split the non-fat berry, yogurt muffin and it wasn't bad for a fat-free muffin.
Our group of 6 was able to sit and chat at a table for over an hour and not feel rushed to leave.
The bathroom was kind of gross so I'd avoid again if possible.
Overall, I'd return for a coffee and conversation.
I had some pastries and a sandwich all from here at different times. I received a gift card and used it up…. the sandwich was a roast beef sand on rye… not very good… it was edible but not for 11.00… the pastries were great… blondie, scone and cookie.. the iced coffee was good too… but I wont be returning.. not for that kinda money. The actual restaurant is nice and cold inside… but kinda empty every time Ive gone back.
Great coffee and good for people watching. The service was efficient. I agree with others that the atmopshere is a bit sterile with all the black and white. Better to sit facing the window and people watch.
Dean & Deluca & Moni.K
Scone heavenly, iced chai perfection.
Yes, it's overpriced. It's NYC, Rockefeller Center, and Dean & Deluca. 3 reasons why to expect anything other than overpriced is unrealistic. So, if you come here prepared to spend, you will enjoy the coffee and treats. Oh, and don't expect service with a smile.
