This is a place you go to with groups. It's extremely easy to over-order because their portions are meant to be shared. I've been here twice and the wings are good but both times I found that I liked their other dishes more than the wings.
The first time I came I had the stuffed roulette wings. It's fun and gimmicky when you're with a bunch of people, but I don't think it's something I would get a second time. Part of me feels kind of cheated that I'm not getting as much chicken as I could be (and wings don't even have that much meat to begin with). At my most recent visit, we got truffle fries and the red onion rings/jalapeno cheese bites for starters. I wouldn't say they're absolute must haves, though they were all decent. Everything was fried to perfection and the onion didn't slide out of the batter which is pretty rare for onion rings lol. For wings we got soy garlic and candied fire. I wasn't the hugest fan of the soy garlic – the garlic was a little too overpowering for me. The candied fire wings were quite sweet, as its name would suggest lol. You don't really feel the spiciness initially – it's more of a gradual burn. Personally I think they're best eaten hot, because the sugary glaze hardens as it cools and literally forms a crisp, candylike shell. They do have a decent variety of wing flavors that you don't really see at other KFC places (usually it's just soy garlic or spicy). Maybe I'll try their classic wings next time because so far my experience with their wings has been just okay.
Their kimchi fried rice is definitely my favorite out of everything that I've tried at DBSK. I've gotten it both times because it's so good. It's got a fantastic smokiness from the ham and it's decently (but tolerably) spicy.
DBSK is a little out of the way, about a 7-10 minute walk from the subway, but I appreciate that it's outside of the Flushing hubbub AND stays open pretty late. The service is pretty much perfect and they have the buttons at the tables that you can use to call the server over. I also like how the tables are in booths with tall walls so you can enjoy your meal with your group with some degree of privacy.
If you're looking for stuffed wings this is the place to go. It's located on a street that's not filled with too many businesses so you might miss it. The decor is dark and bar like but they have tall booths so you definitely have privacy.
The wings are good. I usually get the corn and cheese and the garlic shrimp. They are not cheap on the stuffing. You can definitely get full just off wings. We also ordered the budujigae. It's hearty.
The maple syrup sweet potato fries is what you must order. It taste like candy. Well done!
One of the things that brought me over to Debasaki was the fact that had "stuffed chicken wings". These were good and worth coming here! However, just we weary as this place is located in more of a random spot in Flushing just "off the beaten path". You will walk on Farrington Street which does not look the best, but then Debasaki will appear out of nowhere.
However, once inside it is a very roomy place. There is a good amount of seating with large booth tables and a big screen TV to get your fix of American and K-pop music videos!
For appetizers, my friends and I shared the boneless chicken appetizer with melted mozzarella cheese on top. This was a good dish, with it feeling a little heavy with the amount of cheese they put. The cheese makes it taste pretty good though!
Of course as I mentioned previously, we got the "stuffed chicken wings" which they will call gyoza chicken to share. The varieties that we had were chicken stuffed with kimchi & cheese, corn & cheese, shrimp, and veggies. They give us the variety of stuff wings all on one dish, so it ended up being a random on which ones we ended up eating. However, you can faintly tell the kimchi & cheese one, since it was slightly more plump and redder than the rest. My favorite ones here were the shrimp and kimchi & cheese, so I did not mind "randomly" picking up a kimchi & cheese one! These wings are filling and had that typical Korean Fried Chicken-style taste with the fix-ins stuffed inside. We also got a side of kimchi fried rice which complemented the meal well without complaints.
Overall, I would definitely come back here for just the stuff wings alone, so I shall be back when the craving is real!
10 gyoza stuffed wings that you can mix and match. I tried the crab meat and cheese corn and was in love with the cheese corn. DBSK has a huge selection of beers which I tried the organic strawberry beer for 12 that's shareable among two if y'all are lightweight like me. It was so good I contemplated getting 1 of my own after the first sip, but with my judgement still intact I decided to make the better choice of not getting one more 🙂 The kimchee fried rice was pretty greasy because it has bacon, sausage and I topped mine off with cheese. If you're getting wings maybe you'll want less greasy foods on the table. Maybe that's why that include a little side shrubbery with the wings …
The service was friendly and pretty cool since they have a button you can push by the side of the table that alerts them. All smiles and very sociable! If your friends are boring there's also a large TV for you to watch sports
Came here on a Sunday night so it wasn't crowded. Cool decor outside and inside. We got the famous stuffed chicken wings, which are pretty cool. also had the seafood fried rice with cheese, and the jalapeno cheese bites + onion rings. I don't like onion rings and i found myself eating them non stop. The cheese bites was too spicy for me but i tried one.
Not a fan of Farrington street though… Gets a little dark at night. Cool place to chill with friends.
I've been here multiple times over the years and this is a spot I always recommend, I'm updating my review to say that I still love this spot, I'm glad to say that some things haven't changed such as the friendly, quick and helpful service by the wait staff, awesome food, awesome drinks and a great ambiance. Some things have changed though and for the better, I've noticed that the drink menu has been vastly improved, now they have multiple stouts, ipas, ales and other craft beers, they also have many soju types and sodas, also they have some new selections, I didn't get to try some of the new wing flavors or different types of fries, but I did try the chorizo fried rice which is very tasty but warning it is spicy, I continue to love this place and will always come back
Stuffed chicken wings! Stuff with KIMCHI! Debasaki is the only place around that has good fried chicken and special stuffed fried chicken. Definitely get some of the kimchi stuffed ones, those can create world peace. Everytime I order too much cause I forget I only have one stomach, its that good. Flavoring and stuffing both on point!
Our waiter was also super attentive with a great memory, he took all the orders with his mind…
Also the restaurant is cool, hipster touches with some club thrown in.
My favorite dish is the chicken stuffed with shrimp, as well as the curly fries with parmesan. Those are my usual orders.
I've never tried any Korean stuffed chicken before til I came here, and it's so delicious! I wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for my friend.
Highly recommended!
