It's solid. Sometime the food's a little soggy by the time the delivery (I get the sandwiches), but overall it's decent for the area.
Wide selection of buffet-style by-the-weight food as well as sandwiches n paninis. Didn't build much trust in freshness of food, and prices are still high for a deli, but not a bad option for lunch.
I got a takeout lunch today from their salad/hot food bar. It was even more costly than other such Midtown places and the food was the usual – but the difference was that the people behind the cash register were very friendly, *and* they had water glasses (meaning, free water). There's a seating area up two fairly steep flights, but I was going elsewhere and therefore can't comment on it.
Stopped by here on a recent walk to catch the Metro North. I was trying to find decent canned beer at a decent price to beat what they sell in Grand Central. This is the only place I found in the area. I made multiple stops on my way from 55th & 6th, and none of them sold beer. One around the corner from this place did, but only Bud Light. This place was multiple decent beer options, and one of those ginormous cans will run you a little over $4, which is a steal compared to the wee cans they sell in Grand Central at the same price.
The hot/cold bar looked decent…prices listed for other things also deemed fair, if not cheap….the guys at the register were super efficient…though they were obviously making construction worker type of comments about passing women on the street while they were moving the line along (language barrier aside, it was that obvious).
But still…now I know where to stop for my Metro North stocking.
ps – Be warned that they pull that "$8 minimum credit card" crap. But they do have bottled wine available for sale.
Nothing special. My muffin was stale this morning.
That said, it's a good resource for a quick snack if you need one, and they have a nice selection in the hot and cold buffet if you're willing to risk it.
