  1. I was digging this place. I even let some minor things go because my family and I always ended up loving the food and the only time my husband and I ever dined in person, it went from a sour taste to a spectacular meal and experience.
We ordered delivery this evening and in the past, have had a few misunderstandings with the people taking the orders. Most of the time it's the staff not knowing what is on the menu. For example, I tried to order a dish called Caribbean Shrimp with Penne and my son's Oxtail Stew so that I could pick the orders up on my way home. When I called, the female who answered said they didn't make that shrimp dish. I told her that it was in their menu, online. She apologized and said they didn't have it. I ordered Shrimp Linguine Alfredo instead and as previously mentioned, it turned out to he really good so I let the whole ordering debacle go.
This particular night, hubby called up to order our food. My son went with the Smokehouse Sandwich, which he deemed as "ok", my husband got the Dominican Steak with yellow rice and a side of plantains and he attempted to order my Caribbean Shrimp again. This time, he was apparently making the order with the actual designer of the menu! Surely there would be no problem with my order! Yea…nope.

Because of how the online menu is set up (pic shall be included), I asked him to opt for Alfredo sauce with the Caribbean Shrimp. The guy on the phone said there's  only the Caribbean sauce so, my husband told him to forget about the Alfredo sauce.

Food arrives and my order is jacked up. It's a container of shrimp in what I'm guessing is their caribbean rum sauce. Hubby's and my son's food orders were correct. Hubby wasn't happy with his steak, though. It was tough and a very cheap cut of meat. I tried it and we could've gotten better food from a Latin chain restaurant.

I was rightfully upset. I hate it when businesses screw up a take-out/deliver food order because you have to wait so long to get the food so, when it's messed up, it can't even be easily corrected.

I decided to call and ask for a do-over. So, some chick answers and doesn't understand what I'm saying (probably the same girl I called to make a phone order through, previously) so she passes me off to the gentleman claiming to be the menu creator! Funny, because he argued with me for over five minutes about how my husband saying to forget the Alfredo sauce equated to him saying forget whatever pasta is supposed to be in the dish and just send a container of shrimp. It got to the point where I had to stop him and ask how he was going to remedy the situation. He complained about how I wouldn't let him speak so that he could offer me the pasta that was missing. No lie. This exchange went back and forth for far too long and I just kept saying, "if you're going to take care of it, then take care of it and be done with this conversation". Why he kept justifying the whole misunderstanding was beyond me, especially considering the fact that a major item was missing from  my entrée. Aftet hanging up with him and thinking about how long we spoke before he decided to defer to actual customer service, I decided it might be best not to eat that pasta that was on its way to my home.
This may have been bitchy of me but once the guy came to drop off the pasta, I kindly asked that he bring it back to the guy I spoke to on the phone because I would not ever be eating anything from their establishment every again and I didn't trust what they were giving me.

If a patron receives anything other than what they expect from what's written in your menu in black and white, it's your opportunity, as a business owner, to correct their order and make sure you staff know what the hell they're talking about as well as what's posted on your online menus. The Caribbean Shrimp dish is listed under the "Pasta" section of their online menu and this is the actual description, copied and pasted:

    CARIBBEAN SHRIMP       $18.00
The special shrimp penne with rum. Served with your choice of sauce.
Choose a Sauce: Alfredo Sauce / A la Vodka Sauce / Marinara Sauce

     Fix it!
