  1. This place is spot on for hot pot. The serving staff is very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is quite nice. It's a very large space considering how small their storefront looks.

We ordered a regular and a spicy broth for 4 people and far too many foods to cook, and even after all that and 6 beers our bill was only just over $100. What a steal.

They have an extensive list of meat options, from literally every part of any animal you could wish for. They also have nearly every delicious vegetable you can imagine.

For 4 people I think we ordered over a dozen plates probably closer to a dozen and a half. I think we could have been happy with 6. The plates are that loaded, and surprisingly cheap ($5 for a mountain of delicious thin sliced pork, $3 for another mountain of tofu skins or taro mmmm).

This is such a great winter dinner, it's leisurely and your food is always guaranteed to be hot and freshly cooked, literally.

They also have a fantastic sauce bar, mix and match to your hearts content. I can't wait to go back.

Just note though that they literally only do hot pot here, nothing else. And they definitely specialize in it.

  2. This place saved me from storm Jonas!! Next time a storm comes, I'll be there.

This is a Szechuan restaurant, known for very very spicy food. They have regular dinner style and hot pot. I picked the Hotpot because it was very cold outside.

They are very authentic and bizarre. They serve a lot of internal organs. Apart from the regular gizzards, hearts, liver etc They serve chicken testicles! I have never seen them being served anywhere in the US And of course I ordered it to try it:p

Food was good. We ordered the beef, pork dumplings, and chicken testicles. Chicken balls were ok.

Overall, very authentic Chinese place. They speak English:)

  3. came here for the spicy hot pot. We did not do the AYCE option
We ordered the beef and the fish combo
the combos come with your choice of meat and other vegetables and tofu

The spicy hot pot broth was WAY greasier than other hot pot places I've been to and the flavor was not as intense as I would like

we also ordered the scallion pancake which was cripsy but way to oily and did not enough scallion in it

Service was horrible. There was only 2 tables when we were there, so service should have not been so bad

Ambiance is big and spacious with cute decor.

Maybe I will try other items next time but no more spicy hotpot here for me

  4. Love the broth here and the fact that you can have a table with single pots or a table with sharing pots. They also have a huge seating area downstairs and a private section upstairs.

  5. Dip Dip is not a AYCE place. I will suggest to come here if you have a small party and not a huge party.. Because you will end up ordering a lot and pay more..

Upon entering, this place looks really clean and huge. I really love their decor. We were seated downstairs because we are celebrating someone's bd party.. Why doesn't manhattan chinatown has a hot pot place like this??

Things I like about this place:
    – huge and clean
    – lots of option for hot pot, from seafood to meat, vege…. you name it they have it..
    – have individual pot
    – they have a sauce station where you can just mix and match any sauces you like for hot pot..

    Things I dislike
    – the spicy soup is just a bunch of chili oil and dried chili
    – no marinated meat

I guess they deserve more stars. maybe 3.5 stars.. I decided to rate it down because I feel that with the price I pay, the hot pot is not very special.. I guess hot pot does taste the same?? We asked to bring out the cake as a surprise for our friend.. the waiters literally just brought out the cake with the box and plastic bag without lighting up the candles.. errr….

Anyway.. I haven't try enough hot pot places in flushing to rate this place.. because this is flushing, I think there will be better hot pot places..

  6. Not an AYCE place. When asked for a table of 6, the lady told me it would be a wait. So I asked her how long it would be and she completely ignored me. I asked the other lady next to her and she responded in a very rudely manner. Ok fine, i understand there would be a wait but at least tell me how long and take my name down. Anyways she comes up to us a few minutes later and asked if want to have our own individual pots since there is no wait for that. And she wasnt sure how long the wait is for the one pot. So we opted for the individual pots and was seated downstairs. FYI individual pots cost $3.50 per person. They have options for soup bases. The spicy hotpot was basically just chilli oil with some peppers and seeds in it. VERY OILY. The indivdual pots looked like the bowl that I feed my doggy with aka doggy bowl sitting ontop of a flattop heated stove. The sauce station was pretty sad lookiing althought they had many options but most of the sauces werent fillled up. The food selection is standard. Orders can be orderd in full or half sizes. There are combos also. Majority of the workers spoke mandarin, hard to understand because most of us did not speak it. Our bill came out to be very expensive, would probably eat elsewhere for hotpot.

  7. Extremely poor service. We entered the restaurant and was seated in the lower area with the waterfall next to us. It took them 20 minutes to come back to take our order down, and another 30 minutes to bring the food out. Every time we asked the waiter, they'll tell us that it would be out very shortly in a rude manner with no apologies.

  8. Dip Dip is an a la carte hot pot spot, which is the way I prefer it because the food tends to look cleaner than the all-you-can-eat ones.  It may be just a perception thing, but I appreciate it.  The exterior of the restaurant looks very Chinese tacky, and I would've walked by this place many times without ever considering it if not for a friend.  The interior is neat.

The presentation of your dishes here is very neat and organized…as you can tell by the picture.  The sliced beef was placed on a cylindrical block of ice, which is probably not necessary, but is a cute gesture that at least shows an attempt at maintaining freshness. The vegetables were of nice quality and cleaned probably before serving (what else could I have said about uncooked vegetables?)

The restaurant has a sauce station with all the typical things you would expect at a hot pot restaurant.  The soup base here was good, but not great.  There was flavor in it, but it was very typical with nothing differentiating it from other restaurants.
