  1. I haven't visited their storefront yet, but I have tried their dogs when they brought out their food truck to a car meet recently. These guys are awesome! Go and support them!

The dogs are also awesome. They have some pretty odd offerings too, but I played it safe with the Chili dog topped with slaw. Delicious and filling. I hope to see you guys again soon!

  2. Three and a half.  While the dogs here surely fall short of the simple greatness achieved on the other side of the county at the historic institution that is Walters Hot Dog stand in Mamaroneck, much respect is due to this establishment for the astonishing amount of unorthodox varieties that are on offer here.  What gives the place the affirmative extra stars is the fact that these wild combinations more often then not, wind up being seriously tasty.  A random sampling of the extensive options include a sushi themed dog with wasabi cream and nori, a Mexican "border" dog topped with guacamole and cheese and onion, and untold numbers of dogs topped with ingredients common and not like chili, mac and cheese, chips of different varieties, onions in various stated of cooking, or some combination of said ingredients. Add to this a gracious and friendly staff that is obviously passionate and invested in the place, a simple yet ascetically pleasing setup, central location in one of the more tolerable suburban towns in the metro, and you have what I consider an a-ok spot, and one I am likely to frequent when work takes me to the area and I am in need of a trashy snack.

  3. I came to Dobbs Dawg House with a dream and left with one too.

Dream upon entering DDH: DDH will offer me the best hotdog ever
Dream upon leaving DDH: Come back to DDH everyday for the rest of my life

Yelper Ben Y. and I came here twice in two days. That's a record for me because I never do that because I feel as though there are so many other places to try. But Dobbs Dawg House makes me never want to try anything ever again ever and I mean that in the best way.

Ben was at DDH a few days prior to taking me and experienced the Mac Attack: warm macaroni and cheese topped with bacon bits on a hotdog. After hearing about this, I had to go.

I ordered a Mac Attack and a Chili-n-Cheese hotdog. The Mac Attack was PURE PERFECTION, better than I imagined it to be, and tasted unbelievable. To further illustrate how perfect the Mac Attack is, Ben Y. ordered two both times we went.

The chili and cheese dog was also perfect with its homemade chili and melted cheddar cheese. The hotdogs themselves are really great and served on a fluffy potato bun, which is always the best way to go.

During my second experience at DDH, I highly considered getting the hotdog that features a fried egg and cheese, but I really couldn't get over how amazing the Mac Attack and chili and cheese dogs were and had to order those again.

The guy who seems to be the owner and is also the chef is incredible friendly. When you walk in, there is someone who takes your order. It was a different guy for both of my experiences, but both were equally friendly and made us feel really welcome. After I said my order, my hotdogs were sitting on the counter before I could even open my wallet to pay.

During both experiences, the chef brought us free things while we were sitting and eating our hotdogs! The first time he gave us homemade blondie-brownies and the second time he served us a "dessert dog." The dessert dog consists of a hotdog, peanut butter, chocolate sauce, peanuts and sliced bananas. While it sounds odd, the dessert dog is actually delicious. We were given free things and treated so well by the staff, which is something you don't see much anymore.

The selection of hotdogs to choose from is awesome. The hotdogs are so unique and all sound so good, it's nearly impossible to choose just one or two for your meal. It's not everyday that everything on the menu is something I very badly want to have, but I will say that every hotdog and side dish at DDH is something I would eat.

The side dishes are awesome. Macaroni and cheese, chili, coleslaw (really good, awesome purple color), and tater tots, to name just a few, are featured on the menu alongside the large variety of awesome, uniquely delicious hotdogs. Fresh cupcakes and other desserts are available at the counter.

DDH has amazing branding for a non-franchise place opened by a guy who really loves what he does. They have an awesome logo featuring a growling dog, which they also feature on decals. When Ben asked how we could acquire the decals, the owner asked us what color we wanted and gave them to us!

Dobbs Dawg House seems like the kind of place opened by someone who always wanted to have his own restaurant like this. The people who work there are fun and passionate about what they do, and their friendliness, service and delicious food put big smiles on every face that comes through the door.

  4. There are some really cool hot dog combinations here. They've really tried a lot of different ingredients on the dogs. So what's the biggest issue? All they use are normal hot dog buns for the bread. Normal hot dog buns are terrible. Some of the worst bread ever invented. Seriously. But what was cool? I asked if I brought in my own bread like a baguette would they make a hot dog with the bread I'd bring in. They said they totally would! Now that's cool. The other issue they have is that the ingredients they decorate their dogs aren't great. So I had a mac 'n cheese dog and the mac 'n cheese was kinda terrible. But they've definitely got the right idea if they haven't perfected the true art of exotic hot dogs.

  5. We were walking passed this town througb OCA, and we thought its a nice place for pit stop. So we looked on yelp and found mac attack. This place is cool and definitely family friendly and awesome menu! 12 dawgs ×3 columns, that is a lot of dawgs… we of course ordered the mac attack and man it was delicious and maybe will try making this at home since dobbs ferry is kinda outta the way.

At their price I thought was affordable, plus friendly staffs and cool store. This place will fo well in nyc, but if they do, dont lose your charm! 🙂

Oh, anyone did their challenge?  Id love to hear about it!

  6. Quick, uncomplicated, simply delicious fast food. I had the veggie dog with the Greek salad on top. So yummy, so cheap. Adam had a hotdog with baked beans and ketchup. I don't see the appeal, but he certainly devoured it. Yum!

  7. A no-frills hot dog shoppe featuring beef dogs/veggie dogs/or turkey dogs that come in about 40 combinations.  The place is clean, the staff is freindly, and the dogs are about $3.50-$4.00 each.  I had the Mac Attack and the Sushi Dawg.  The Mac Attack was topped with mac-n-cheese and bacon bits and was filled with flavor.  The Sushi Dawg had spicy mayo and seaweed, and although I thought this was an unsual combo on a hot dog, I was actually impressed by the combination of flavors, however the veggie dog itself was a let down.  My veggie dog was not homemade but instead it was definitly just a frozen dog that they heated up.

For what this is, this plus was a-ok.  I was not blown away by the food, but I did enjoy my meal.

  8. Cool hot dogs and friendly service. The MAC attack is by far one of the best hot dogs and there are lots of other combinations to try. The hot dogs are about $3-$5 each and offer a variety of options. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
