Dosa Express

“Only complaint was that the sambar is very watery and then give you just one coconut chutney unlike other places where you have Atleast two chutneys.”

“I've had dosas a few times at several places in the area, and Dosa Express seems par for the course, albeit slightly cleaner and less intimidating for a non-Indian than many of the others around.”

“Although this is technically "fast food," it is worlds better than American fast food.”

  1. Been here twice and it was a bit inconsistent. I had the 5 and 7 layer dosas, respectively, on my visits. Dining partner had paneer dosa and was pretty happy with it. Heard the idli dosa is also good. There is one person there that appears to be rude, but he is actually very nice. He can take a little time to understand what you are saying, but be patient.

    Pros:
-Fairly tasty (especially the first time)
-Free decent Sambar (vegetable lentil soup)
    -Large portion and good price
-Willing to customize (see butter "con" below)
    -Pretty good chutneys (sauces)

    Cons:
    -Tasted different the two times
-Was very buttery (this could be a pro for some, but they were willing to reduce amount of butter)
-Frozen vegetables used for the added ingredients i.e. carrots, peas, etc (potatoes and onions don't seem frozen, though); my advice is get the dosa with potato, onion, and chili)
-$20 credit card minimum (at least they take CC, though)

Need to try it a third time to see if that three should be a 3.5/4

  2. Disclaimer: I am quite familiar with how good Indian food should taste like and here's my verdict – the food here is effin legit.

The food tastes so good, almost like the stuff you get back home in India (and that's very uncommon in spite of all the 5 star establishments around)

DON'T come here for the service or a nice dine-in experience, you won't get any. You are better off ordering a take-out and eating it in your garage. And the guy behind the counter just doesn't seem sane (I wanna give the benefit of doubt to him though)

Come here for good and unpretentious food at super cheap prices and you'll leave a happy person.
