  1. I don't even know where to start when describing this wonderful place. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, if you want to know what's vegan (which turns out to be a lot of the menu), if you don't know anything about south Indian cuisine or if you want to know the levels of spiciness they'll gladly answer all of your questions. It's a rare and precious gem in an age of vast poverty when it comes to finding delicious (and cheap) vegan food. Back in my omni days this place showed me you could have an entirely vegetarian or vegan meal and not miss the meat at all… they're simply that amazing.
The dosas are delicious, the sambar and chutney are also delicious, I have yet to try other menu items but I'd be surprised if they were anything less than delicious. If you're looking for a missing piece of your soul that can only be found in food form, this is the place to go.

  2. Their food tastes like vomit. Never again!

My grandma and I got some food and we were disgusted. What was my father thinking when he took us here? And we like Indian food!!!

  3. Passable. Just passable. I was very excited about this place after reading all the reviews on yelp. Unfortunately, in my experience this place wasn't so great. The vada were good – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside though not as flavorful as other places I've eaten at. I also ordered the onion, tomato and cheese uttapum. Meh, It was just ok. The sambhar was also just ok. Overall, I was so underwhelmed considering all the hype. I suppose I may just be spoiled with all the actually amazing dosa places in Toronto.

  4. I almost don't want to write a review on yelp because I want to keep this place a secret. But I do know that the chances of people actually trekking all the way to Flushing, to go to a hole in the wall nonetheless, for bomb a$$ dosas and uttapams are slim… (totally kidding myself right now).

So you ready for this? Think Hampton Chutney in Soho but half the price. Seriously! This place is authentic and so so good.

  5. In the middle of a residential block, you will find a hidden gem. I eat the onion rava masal as well as the spinach and cheese masala. The crispy crepe outside is the same for both, each plate comes with a green dipping sauce (not spicy at all) and a tomato soup that i doubled as sauce. My personal fave was the onion rava masalas, huge chunks of curry potatoes, mixed with raw onions wrapped in a thin crunchy shell. The flavors mesh so well together and tastes super authentic. The sit down area is low key and not fancy but definitely worth the visit. Throughout my meal, you can tell this shop is frequented by locals and is not americanized at all. Also, the man behind the counter that greeted us made the visit that much better, he explained the various types they had with a smile on his face.

  6. After having so meat during Thanksgiving, I decided to come here for some vegetarian food. I ordered their pondicherry dosa and the spinach and cheese dosa with potato. We also ordered a platter with rice. They food was so flavorful and the Dosas were nice and crispy. I especially loved their coconut chutney since I love cocnut. The sauce had a very strong coconut taste and had shredded or rather minced coconut meat. The Dosas were nice and crispy too. I personally like the spinach and cheese dosa more than the pondicherry. The pondicherry is basically filled with potatoes, onion and some small hot peppers. You should definately eat it with the coconut chutney because it helps with the after effect of the spiciness. The spinach and cheese isn't spicy but was cheesy and reminded me of spinach artichoke. The platter was spicy too. There was rice and 3 small portions of dishes. It also came with a round flat bread that you can wrap or dip the dishes with. It was honestly too much food for 2 people. The 2 Dosas would actually be enough  for 2 people, but I wanted to try more than that. The mango and yogurt lasi was good too. The lasi really helps with the spiciness.the price was also not too bad. Should definately give it a try if you are looking for some Indian food.

  7. Woke up with a major dosa hankering, so i road the 7 train from start to finish, and wandered over. An hour and a half later, sitting in restaurant, hangry af.

This is definitely one of the better special rava masala dosas iv had. The rava is rather cheap, but its 8 bucks and the most expensive dosa on the menu so its all value. The masala is really great.

Really impressive coconut chutney, maybe the best ive ever had in a restaurant. And we're talking about 25 years of dosa eating. Thats why this place gets 5 stars.

I also had an idli vada. It may sound cheap at 3 bucks but they only give you one idli, which is hilariously absurd. That being said its soft and fluffy. Excellent.

All in all really good, it satisfied my craving. All the ingredients are legit, the flavors are on point. I even grabbed some samosas and muruku to go.

Two things i have to add tho. my dad would probably refuse to eat at this place b/c of the styrofoam plates. And also he'd be pretty appalled to get only one idly, thats ludacris to him. So if my family came to the area to go to the ganesh temple next door, im likely to suggest we eat there instead. But dont let that deter you.

  8. Went there for quick trip to flushing.. This restaurant is by the temple.. Ordered Mysore dosa, lassi and chai.. Place was very busy.. Our dosa was good but not the best I ever had.. I really liked their chai..it wasn't overly sweet.. Lassi was decent.. There is nothing much was decor.. Extra star for chai only!!!
