Dough

“I'm still giving it 5 stars, because the dough itself is completely unmatched in my book and we did enjoy the Hibiscus and cafe au lait doughnuts thoroughly!”

“The #yeastdoughnuts pictured are the café au lait, the chocolate with coco nibs, Nutella filled and the dulce de leche.”

“I think my favorite is the blood orange or dulce de leche or coconut or lemon or plain, ALL so GOOD.”

  1. These are the best donuts I've ever had in my whole life, period. My favorites are any of the chocolates as well as cinnamon sugar and dulce de leche. Not into the hibiscus or lemon poppyseed flavors, but I'm not much of a fruity donut person.

9 times out of 10 there's a line and a wait, but every single time, its worth the wait and the amount you pay for the donut because they are the best. The staff are pretty cool too!

Highly recommended, but be prepared to pay some dollabillz for these and don't complain about it cause you will be super full after one. In fact, I often split one with a friend/boyfriend because sometimes they can be a little intense.

  2. OH MY GOD DOUGHNUTS.

This place is exceptional. The range of doughnuts is awesome (not enormous, but more than big enough, imaginative and delicious).

The selection ranges from plain glazed to crazy chocolate creations. We decided to stick to something more basic, trying to keep the doughnut taste instead of just a massive chocolate taste. The mojito doughnut was excellent, minty, sweet, (sadly nonalcoholic, that would have been an experience!) and delicious. The plain was also sweet and light.

I would definitely recommend popping into this place if you're in the area. $6.50 for two doughnuts is an absolute steal!

  3. My favorite is still the au lait, but I decided to broaden my horizons a bit and try some of the other flavors here. The lemon poppy was a tad too tart for my liking. The
chocolate with cocoa nibs was delicious. The tres leche/dulce de leche was very sweet and yummy, but I could've done without the almonds; they lent a texture and crunch to the doughnut that I didn't think necessary.

  4. Following our brunch at Cafe Zona Sur, we ended up at Dough because we opted to use Waze to get us home and it basically gave us a tour of the entire borough of Brooklyn. No one was more annoyed than Haimov. While navigating Brooklyn, the preggos had to have a doughnut. Apparently, (in my Leo voice) , Dough's doughnuts are less heavy than doughnut plants. Where's is that STFU? Button. Smh. Lol. Anyway, we stopped and got the salted caramel, the regular glaze and the Nutella doughnut. Doughnuts were alright, and kind of heavy . I opted for the chocolate milk , which I really enjoyed but alas I left it in Haimovs car, never to be seen again. (Pissed I didn't finish it b/c it was that good). They also have drinkable yogurt , if you are into that sort of thing.

  5. Oh my gosh!  I am obsessed; unfortunately.  Luckily it's just far enough that if I really wanted a donut, I would likely psyche myself out before making the trek there.

I had my first donut at Burly coffee shop,a regular glazed donut, and later discovered that they were made less this a mile away from my place.  I made the little hike there because the first donut was SO GOOD and purchased the cafe au lait, the horchata and cinnamon sugar donut.

The best thing about these donuts, the dough!  Hence the name.  Clearly they know it's lit!  It's like eating compacted brioche covered in sugar.  The donut is dense but light.  It's a real feat!  When I got there, they were making more donuts, so it looks like they make them fresh, continuously throughout the day.

When I'm not quite on a "lifestyle change," I'll definitely be heading back.  They've certainly made it in my Top 3.

  6. I dropped by to try one of their doughnuts yesterday, and I'm a fan! Sampling the cinnamon sugar, it had just the right amount of coating, and was not too sweet. However, it was a bit on the dry side, and one of my friends said that hers was, too.

  7. Naturally I wanted to get the pink donut, because it was so cute and pinky. But it was not only cute, it was delicious, the hibiscus donut that I had was sweet and floral and perfect!

  8. If you get a newly made chocolate nib donut still warm, just came out from the back … then you will know what little cherry-cheeked cherubs feel floating on fluffy spring clouds as they float through cool breezes, God on their side.

You eyes will close and your mouth will experience true love. This feeling is real and it happens at Dough in Brooklyn. If you want to wash it down with cold milk, go for it. Or else, keep it real – let the chocolate stay dominant as you masticate and you'll forget your worries for a bit.

And don't forget to remember .. smile. Life is good in the land of the best donut in NYC. Workout before you go or tomorrow morning.
