  1. wow peanut butter and jam square doughnut BLEW MY MIND!
slighlty crisp doughnut covered in crunchy peanut butter. blueberry jam filled the interior of the doughnut. doughnut was fluffy and had no traces of fry oil.

if you like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, you got to try this. its not super sweet. its a symphony of flavors and textures. sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy, fluffy and crisp. KABOOM!

  2. Can we say amen and hallelujah to the Donut Fairy. I always look at this place and think who would want just donuts. Got in the store and then a crowd appeared. Everyone began laughing and talking like children do when they get a treat. I mean you just find something nice to say when you're eating something sweet and yummy. lol.  Their donuts tasted better than DD and KK IMO. They had a homemade kind of taste to them.  I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a sweet tooth.

  3. I live for the coconut doughnut at Doughnut Plant. LIVE for it. That doughnut gets better AS.YOU.EAT.IT. Honestly and truly there is nothing like it. My second favorite is the blackberry filled doughnut that I swore I wouldn't like but then, hello! Yes I did! I rarely like any filled doughnuts and yet I'm a convert at Doughnut Plant. My only pet peeve is that I can never spell "doughnut" correctly (is it donut? donought? dohnonono-that-can't-be-right) so I'm forever getting the address wrong when I google search for the doughnut plant in Manhattan. Thankfully the Brooklyn spot is perfectly situated in our very own flatiron building, a little known secret that was long sitting empty until Doughnut Plant moved in. I've loved that building since I moved to Flatbush and I was really glad someone finally did something worthwhile with it. Because if doughnuts aren't worthwhile, what the heck is!?

  4. These donuts are addictive. Just saying. Should you try them? Hell yes! Will you regret trying them because you will be hooked on the best donuts EVER?!?! Will you be unable to ever eat a non-Doughnut Plant donut in the future without hating yourself a little? Most definitely.

Every … single… flavor…is a slice of heaven. Tres leches, carrot, white chocolate, cinnamon…I am a slave to the cake flavors.

Because I have SOME discipline I restrict myself to only venturing to this den of diabetic delights when I have friends come to the city or I have an event and I have to bring a treat.

You have not lived until you have tried their donuts.

  5. This place with the yummy pastries is located directly across the street from Sugarcane. The decision was made to go to Doughnut Plant for dessert. I had the Black and White and my friend had the Vanilla Bean "doughnut" and they were delicious! I made sure that I enjoyed a cup of mint herbal tea which completed my dessert on this semi-chilly evening. All in all, I was glad to have tried this place and will come back whenever I have the urge to do so……

  6. DP Power Ranking (to be updated as I try the new ones):

    1. Peanut Butter and Jam (Yeast)
-The precise whimsy that characterizes donut plant: a tongue-in-cheek reference to an American staple reimagined in donut form.  The reimagination is executed at a high level (which is characteristic of all DP donuts in all locations (and even the ones you find in Dean & DeLuca)

    2. Tres Leches (Cake)
-Subtle and balanced, the perfect coating.  You don't find a donut like this anywhere else.

    3. Carrot Cake (Cake)
-Subtle is hard to achieve in a donut-typically a donut would just try to overwhelm you with sugar, but DP's quality and attention to detail allows for flavors like TL & CC.  The CC executes this subtle taste as well as the Tres Leches but I prefer the TL flavor.

    4. Blueberry (Yeast)
-Standard cakey donut for when you have a fruit craving

    5. Coffee Cake (Cake)
-A well executed take on a classic, but you come to DP for the creativity.

    6. Blackout (Cake)
-Just too rich, too much chocolate. I respect what they are trying to do here but as stated the subtlety of flavor that the cake donut provides and this one is too much for me.

    7. Peanut Butter Banana (Yeast)
-I know the balance of this review speaks quite a bit about subtlety, so I'm going to backtrack a little bit here.  The banana flavor is too subtle here and gets overpowered by the peanut butter.

    8. Pecan Praline (Beignet)
-I guess I was expecting Cafe du Monde and got something different–will have to revisit.

    9. Valrhona Chocolate (Yeast)
-See Blackout above w/r/t chocolate–it's just too much.

  7. I really enjoyed stopping by this location, such a diverse crowd. The staff was very nice. The donuts were great, I couldn't come and not try the Creme Brûlée donut, it was interesting. I also had the Pecan Praline Beignet donut. Both good options, I wanted to try more, but for the sake of my summer body (lol) I couldn't do it. Also we were on our way to dinner.

  8. Creme brûlée donut.

Flashback to summer 2015 when I'd drive 3 miles for this gem as a weekly fix. And this gem would be the creme brûlée donut. *swoons*

Yeast doughnut–soft, delicious chewy texture. The creme brûlée stands out with its classic vanilla custard filling and caramel flambé crust.

    Perfection.
