Why did Duane Reade open this cramped little store, unwanted or needed by the community. We have many other Duane Reades within a few blocks. Probably they were trying to get the business from NYU Hospital.
The staff, which seems to be one person in the front at all times, is alternately bored or over worked.
Its a new store, but everything is crammed together and the layout is crazy.
But my worse and last experience was this week. I walked in there with my girl friend drinking a Diet Pepsi, I made sure that the cashier saw me. She was looking for some perfume. So I was ideally following her, and all of a sudden, some monster of a dude is up in my face, and he says, "do you intend to pay for that?", so I am like, "no"…"I already paid for it up the the street, I'm not going to pay again, your cash dude saw me" and we just f-ing left. This must have been some "security" guy, sitting in a back room. I will never set foot in that place again.
This is a smaller location but every time I've been here, I have found to staff to be friendly and helpful. The pharmacists, the two asian ladies go above and beyond. They know who their regulars are but treat new customers with the same level of professionalism and serviceability they provide to their regulars. I've always found them to be really easy to talk to, making me more comfortable to ask the questions I have regarding my medications. The only downside is that more often than not, this location doesn't always have what I need available because it is a smaller pharmacy at a smaller duane reade.
3 stars for stock and 4 stars for customer service.
This seems like an express store? Not sure. The place is small thus they don't have -everything- (non- drug related product) in stock or variety compared to other branches. If you want to hunt down that drugstore makeup brand on sale that week, unless it's L'Oreal, I would suggest you go to another location.
Pharmacy wise, they are just fine. And the wait is minimal.
The staff here are great and the store manager is excellent. Super friendly and seems always willing to ring you up at another register if he sees you waiting in line for check out.
