It's rinky-dink, buy does the job. In this seemingly desolate stretch of the Upper East Side that is more inhabited by hospitals and medical offices than residents, this Duane Reade is still old and antiquated and SMALL, but has the basics you need in a pinch. Goodness knows, over the past five years, I'm glad it's there on the days I've ripped my pantyhose and needed a new pair while at work across the street. It's nice to pick up a quick prescription. It definitely caters to patrons leaving any of the local hospitals with a myriad of medical products (crutches, slings, wheelchairs, other comfort care items).
It ain't my top choice, and if I did live in this neighborhood, I'd certainly make the trek to the CVS on 72nd and 2nd or the big and sexy Duane Reade up on 1st and 72nd. Still, in a pinch, I'm thankful this Duane Reade exists than if it didn't at all. Better than nothing.
Had a prescription filled in 15 minutes and browsed for a few odds and ends in the meantime. The store is tidy and has all the essentials, though pricey, and seems to be the drugstore closest to the hospital complex.
Super small and contains most household basics. This is convenient to where I live, so if I need something fast or a prescription, this is my place. It may be worth walking the one block to the bigger DR for grocery/major household needs.

P.S.: CASH BACK! FINALLY! Duane Reade, you've waited long enough…yeesh…THANK YOU.
