Well, it's a Duane Reade. It's convenient to the WTC PATH station. I went in to find some nail care items, and was pleasantly surprised by the very large selection. Nothing special, otherwise, but it met my needs just fine.
Conveniently located opposite City Hall Park. This Duane Reade is equipped with a bakery and a fresh prepared food department for the on-the-go New Yorkers. Utensils and napkins can only be obtained upon request should you purchase a salad or entree as it is a method of controlling the distribution of utensils and napkins. The salads and entrees are overpriced of $7.49. No microwave is available as you would have to schlep it back to your office to nuke it in your microwave. This Duane Reade has two levels where the lower level is pharmacy and prescription and the upper level for snacks, and food items. Overpriced.
Staff are not melancholy unlike the standard Duane Reade.
I used to love this place. Now? Not so much. I bought a $7 cheese and grape platter plate last week, brough it back to the Office only to find out that the cheese had gone bad. When I took it back, with my receipt to prove that I had JUST purchased it 30 minutes prior, they didn't want to reimburse me. I had to ask for a manager to get my money back.

I went there yesterday and everything was fine; a nice young guy helped me find the item I needed and the cashier was pleasant.

I'll stick to only buying my medicine from here.
