Always find myself coming back to this location! It's close to home and always has what I need with great sales! Great place to buy shower products and beauty supplies for a bargain! Can always rely on this drug store.
I don't want to slam the excruciating slowness I've experienced at the pharmacy here because half the time it's super fast and efficient and friendly and wonderful. But when this pharmacy is slow, it is seriously the slowest slow that ever slowed. Sloths won't come here to fill their prescriptions because it's too slow. And by slow, I mean slow. But I also mean chaotic and totally disordered, so you talk to someone who waves you over while answering the phone, you're just dropping off an Rx, which they take from you, then they take 3 more phone calls, never actually speak words to you, and 15 minutes later you're begging anyone in a Duane Reade uniform to just grab your prescription back because now you're late for work – at which point someone else behind the counter says "yeah, ready in an hour."
Fast forward 4 hours: you approach the counter and of course the prescription hasn't been filled! How silly of you to assume.
To be fair, there have also been a handful of occasions in which I received absolutely lovely service and my prescriptions WERE ready and it wasn't inexplicably chaotic behind the counter.
Problem number 2 for me is that they seem to be selectively filling my refills – like, I called in 3, but there's only one there, and the person behind the counter tells me that's the only one I submitted (I swear to you I know how to call in refills, I TAKE MANY PILLS IN ORDER TO LIVE AND AM GOOD AT MAKING CERTAIN MY LIFE-PILLS ARE FILLED WHEN I NEED THEM). This has happened enough that I feel like I'm in a really awkward re-make of that film, Gaslight.
So… other than that pharmacy insanity and being gaslighted, not a bad Duane Reade! It's clean and they have stuff and it doesn't look like it was ransacked by pirates or anything. Which is nice.
Soooooooooooooooooooo slow!! From the pharmacy to the cashiers up front. The move as if we have all day to sit I there and hang out with them. The lines are usually atrocious and someone is always fussing and screaming about something. It's unfortunate that this is the only place who sells my cat's food. I've often thought of letting her starve and avoiding this place all together. I just cannot.
This pharmacy was a life saver today!! Come to think of it, when I've filled prescriptions & couldn't leave the neighborhood this place would always have what Rite Aid and CVS didn't.
The pharmacist who was there this morning was awesome & told me that they always had common medicines unlike the Rite Aid I went to the day before. Service was prompt and attentive.
Thanks for being a place that instilled some neighborhood pride in me!!
