I bought and ate some arugula yesterday. Wasn't going to do a review but want to respond to some of the a-holes below. I found some of the staff a little curt here too, but I understand why, because there were a lot of annoying people coming in and our trying to pretend they were experts on everything and acting like they owned the place, like the idiot below that felt entitled to pet the rabbits for some reason. Their place of business, their rules. Same with the volunteer…if they have enough people they have enough. No such thing as free. I volunteer still requires some kind of instruction and potentially even additional insuarance coverage.
Now for my review: arugula was meh. Not as good as what I am used to getting at Union Square and more expensive. Sorry guys.
Hurry up, this place is supposed to close due to the new waterfront mega construction project. Located on a not so tall building at the end of greenpoint, this farm has a really clear view over the river and the city. They grow all kinds of season veggies, have chicken, and a market at the entrance. It is amazing to see a farm in the city. I have heard they are pretty much always looking for volunteer!
