East Buffet & Restaurant
“We liked the fact that they practice 'no tips and no service charge' and all small to large items are priced at $2.50 per plate on weekdays.”
“The banquet was held in a space that was enough to fit the guests invited.”
“They get four stars for their dim sum and carry out section on the first floor and this review is based solely on those two offerings.”

A cool spot for quick take out Chinese good in flushing.
2 of us. We were pretty hungry looking for a snack. Ordered some wings. 6$ for like 12 wings. Made with a sweet and savory red sauce. Hit the spot.
Overall: might return if in the area. A lot of Chinese food choices.
My parents and I came here for dinner again and it's always great. The owner and my parents are practically bffs!
Tonight we came here for my brother's birthday dinner. We ordered jellyfish, roast baby pig and soy sauce chicken, beef egg drop soup, veggie, scallops, lobster and noodle.
Everything was on point! Service great. Reasonable prices. Great for family style meals! Come visit this place!
Came here for a few times, only for dim sum. So the review is based on that only. The service is not bad, attentive wait staff and the cart ladies are very aggressive in selling their food, which I actually like, because at least they are not ignoring you! lol. The only complaint is that sometimes the dishes are cold, not lukewarm, like it's been sitting there for a few hours COLD. So I feel like I'm not getting the most freshest batch and that's the most important thing to me.

East Buffet has gone through many management changes over the years, but I feel like their dim sum selection and quality overall has remained consistent. The pricing on their dim sum has also been just as, if not cheaper, than other large restaurants in Flushing. Dim sum hours (approx. 10AM – 2PM) will be extremely busy on weekends so you should expect a wait if you arrive at 11AM or 12PM.
If you're new to dimsum, expect lots of people, lots of noise, and lots of food. Many people, especially those who qualify for AARP memberships, tend to sit and chat for hours. Younger patrons are usually in and out within an hour.
As for the first floor hot bar, the fried fish with tofu is my go-to. I've also had some of the other selections, but it's been too long since I've ordered them to judge their current quality.
"Ate here when it was a buffet, I actually like it now that it's just Chinese a la cart restaurant"
So as a kid to visit my friends and family in Queens, this was a staple place. As a buffet they had lots of selection and fresh lobster. Great atmosphere and nice place to dine for sure.
However they've since closed this buffet and the upstairs part of the restaurant is now a banquet hall area for weddings. In fact when visiting this place again I found out it was for a few wedding parties and I saw the bride going up the stairs.
Now, instead of leaving, we decided to stay and what we found was actually pretty good.
Fresh, greasy-spoon-ish Cantonese food but without all of the filler. They have an expansive menu and lots of to choose from in terms of seafood, beef, chicken, pork, and specials etc.
What I liked was a spicy beef dish, shrimp and broccoli and their mixed Chinese mushroom dish. Not expense either. $30 or so can feed a family of 4 to 5 given the portion size. Very pleasant surprise.
So my review is on the first floor dine-in restaurant. Nice quality Chinese, not greasy, great flavour.
The BBQ food box only cost me $7.5. It is not expensive. And it could satisfies my appetite. The meat is totally Asian style. If it was located at Baltimore, I will buy it again for my lunch.
I thought that service could not get any worse, but it did. This place sucks.
Fought for the check with the fam, and won today, like the good Asian lady that I'm supposed to be.
Paid for the bill and was confused about whether the tip was included or not. I asked a couple members of the staff and they told me to leave it on the table. My family however insisted that it was already included on the check and that they were lying to me. I left and saw the no tip and no service charge sign by the entrance. Needless to say staff is poorly trained and service, besides the cart ladies, was atrocious.
Food is bad.
I think that at this point my stomach aches every time I think about East Buffet. People come here because it's cheap, but you get what you've paid for.
We came here for their lobster and It was extremely delicious and not over rated. We also enjoyed the veggie and FJ fried rice we had. I'm surprised the review was not good on Yelp. It's definitely a good place to have some real Chinese food.
