  1. For an emergency slice on the go, I pop in here and grab one quick.  Cheese seems to absorb wine & other inebrients.  And a good thing too!

  2. Late. Night. Delivery. (from Eat24)

Should you potentially find yourself crashing on a friends couch at, I dunno, say 3:45am… on a Monday (Tues at that point), you're in need for meal #5 on the day to make sure you end the night strong and can get a good (but uncomfortable) nights rest. Luckily, EVP is open until 5am and will take delivery orders until 4:15am-ish. Since orders are a bit slow at that point, your food will arrive in record time.

Though we flirted with the idea of getting an entire pie (thanks Yelp pics), we ended rocked a few different items. The broccoli roll is huuuge and really good (make sure to ask for extra sauce, bc you're gonna do a whole lotta dippin'). The chicken parm is also large and was on par with most other spots in the area, and you can't go wrong getting a few rando slices, just in case you go into dumpster mode (we did).

Bottom line: I'm sure you can enjoy this spot at anytime, but you can REALLY enjoy it when you need some hot 'za to a couch at 4am. It's on the better end of late night fare, for sure.

  3. We stopped here for a slice after a night of bar hopping. The pizza tasted great, and given that it was nearly 3am, it was even fresh-tasting. The atmosphere isn't anything special, but it sure does fill your tummy in a post-alcohol induced hunger moment.

  4. The pizza was surprisingly very good. Nothing too crazy, but definitely a great spot to grab a delicious, quick slice.

A lot of people there were eating the kabobs, so it seemed like they were popular for this dish.

  5. Good pizza after a night of drinking other then that I couldn't give any more of a review. 3 slices came out to $8.00 but when you want some quick food in your belly this works.

  6. Decent slice here, and not too hard on the wallet. Guys are friendly for sure. When Dan and John's opens up on this block, I'll have to split my time between East Village Pizza & Kebabs and Stromboli at the other end of the block when pairing pizza with Buffalo wings.

  7. No NYC residency is complete without becoming emotionally attached to a local pizza joint. East Village Pizza & Kebabs, I miss you dearly and am barely a week out of the hood. I'm seeking out your new replacement as we speak.

You can come in a million times and always try something new. They usually have at least 15+ speciality slices at any given time. BBQ chicken, sausage and peppers, Hawaiian- the list goes on. I know that they have Mediterranean options (gyros, kababs) but I've only ever tried the pizza, it's tough not to.

I usually keep it pretty classic and almost always grab a margarita slice, not heated up (it's the movement people). This is a damn good slice- sweet and flavorful sauce with plenty of fresh mozz and basil on top. And of course, It's not a pizzeria trip without a fountain root beer to wash it all down.

Pro-Tip: They usually have a check-in offer for free garlic knots. Get them EVERY time, whether they are free or not- easily the best garlic knots out there. I've had knots at other pizza spots that are just lightly dusted in olive oil and garlic powder. For shame…for shame. These knots are drowning in fresh chopped garlic and parsley. Spread some of the extra garlic mixture on your slice- you won't regret it.
