  1. The Cowboy roll is NOT-  I repeat, NOT filet mignon; it's regular ground beef.  It is quite laughable how they somehow think people will believe that.  Okay, maybe some folks wouldn't know the difference.  I got it because I am easily enticed by foods that tickle my funny bone.  Good meat or not, the flavoring of this roll was pretty decent.

I came here for lunch so I got the lunch sushi roll specials(a mixture of salmon, yellowtail and scallops) and a seaweed salad.

The rolls will fall apart here.  The fish was questionable.  Besides the cowboy, every other one was pretty bland.  The staff was not as friendly as they could be.  My questions were answered with smiles and nods, but no words.  As most places in NJ and the city, it isn't run by Japanese people.  And it certainly showed.

    PASSSS.

  2. If I were to give just the food a rating, I'd probably give a 4.5. Big portions, and the rolls were loaded with the fish, and there was minimal rice which is how it should be.

The service however was nonexistent, but I guess I didn't mind because my friend and I didn't really need much attention. We were the only ones in the whole place so the food came out fast.

Here's my problem with them that just pissed me off so much – in the end, you're supposed to receive the check at your table. They never gave us the check and waited until we came up to the hostess stand to open up our checkbook in front of us while the hostess/our server just STARED.  One thing I can't STAND is when a server tries to intervene and tell us how much money we should put out. EXCUSE ME but I am going to decide what tip you will get and how much money I will put out. Servers should NOT make the customer uncomfortable like that and it was unacceptable. When dining with friends, that's something we discuss in private.

Other than that irritating end to my dining experience, I will still talk positively about the food to anyone who asks for a recommendation in the area.

  3. One of the freshest sushi place to go to. You love sushi, don't think twice and just go!  My girl eats sushi and she says this is up there for freshness.  I'm more a california roll guy, I don't like raw fish but the meat roll that they have definitely makes up for it.

I also get shrimp and chicken tempura with fried rice. Very good! Few selection of dessert but they are all good.  Like most places like this, its Bring your own alcohol.  The staff are the best.  They are too nice haha.

  4. I think I just found my new go-to spot. This place is great in all aspects. The place was clean and cozy, the staff was friendly, the food came out fast, the fish was fresh and the price was fantastic. So happy that we stopped in. We ordered some appetizers which quickly made their way to our table, followed by a few rolls. All of which were great, even the different than normal chicken roll my wife ordered. As a bonus, it's BYOB.
