  1. Wonderful new addition to the Yorkville neighborhood.  Homey, inviting and upbeat comfortable neighborhood bar/ restaurant atmosphere great for families, couples or friends.  Fantastic food and drinks, and wonderful accommodating service.

I've been here twice- once for drinks and once for
Food, and both times we left happy, a great place for conversation and good vibes.

Atmosphere. The open seating area in front – well lit with large windows facing York Avenue- is great for families and small groups. The back area is more dimly lit with small candles on the tables and closer, more intimate seating; great for a date.  Also comfortable seating at the bar.

    Food. Wonderful. What we had:
    – small complimentary dish with fresh vegetables, green beans and radishes, was lovely and kept catching my eye with its pretty colors
    – oysters. I prefer larger oysters but really liked these
    – cauliflower gratin with crispy leeks – super and well presented
    – Truffle French fries – so good
    –  Lamb shawarma with hummus and grilled flatbread. Incredible! First time having this and I loved it.

Service and Drinks: The bartenders and servers are all friendly and welcoming, and accommodated my particular tastes in drinks – even made a custom creation named after my "complicated" tastes and indecisiveness on my two visits: "the complicated princess."  Fruity, spicy Mezcel perfection.

Note I am not complicated – I'm just particular and not simple. :p Drink name a result of letting me taste several wines the first visit – seeing the wine looking bar area but only to decide on a Mezcel cocktail slightly modified to my tastes after realizing they have a fabulous cocktail list. Second visit I tried to order the modified mezcel drink from a waitress but something was lost in translation so upon request the same Bartender from the first visit sweetened it up and made it just right. When I asked what he did to change it, the waitress said he added simple syrup and something else — I said there is definitely more magic than simply simple syrup, joked I am not simple and there is nothing simple about his divine creation… The bartender saw us leaving and when I complimented his drinks, he said "I thought that was you and joked, you are definitely not simple — When I asked what should I ask for when I return and want that same perfect drink: right on cue he said "the complicated princess".
    Love it.

300th review for a new favorite fabulous neighborhood bar/ restaurant and with my perfect custom made drink that I can order by a witty and creative name. Highly recommend for drinks or dinner with friends, family or a date.

  2. Bustling UES eatery with an American-Mediterranean flare.  Enjoyed the dishes but service was super slow and the waitress was snappy..  Not sure if this is a typical thing here or if the place was understaffed but I will give them a second chance.  4 stars for the food.  Service was 1 star.

  3. Great new addition to the ues. Cool chill vibe inside. Good for a date or dinner with a few friends. They starred us off with some pickled vegetables on the house which was a nice touch, plus they were really good. The burrata appetizer is excellent. The chicken parm was an interesting twist on a traditional dish. The grilled cheese was also a little different but very good. My wife and I loved the truffle fries. Most importantly the wine list by the bottle was pretty extensive. All around solid spot.
