What a great view from this place, they offer eats that right face to the air way, which allow you to see the whole process of how a plant departures. And the best part is thay it's also facing to the New York City. It is easy made some quite good pictures, especially for the Boeing lover.
The shop itself it alright, I read some reviews about how ridicious the price here was. But when I was here, I found the price was acceptable. It was not much big, well, I mean the shop was inside the airport. The price regularly cost from $2.53 to $7 around. And dont forget that you still need to pay text at the cashier.
Overall, for a small break, it's totally alright. The place is quite clean and the view is really cool.
Respectable food but obscene prices (even for airport fare). I had the spinach and cheese bourek. Tasty but too oily.
The phyllo was fluffy and crunchy on the outside. The cheese nicely balanced out the spinach, however, the oily under-taste was overpowering and unbalanced the flavor profile, almost pushing it into fast food fare. Overall, better than average airport food but $7 for a bourek is pushing it.
The closest fast food place near our boarding gate. The kind of food that they sell caught my attention- something unique, different, ethnic wise – so, why not give it a try. I find each item expensive. I bought a chicken sandwich about a foot long and medium size bottled water just in case we'll get hungry during our long flight (coz' we are not sure if the airline crew will feed us right away. It adds up to $20+. Wow, glad that me and hubby knows how to share. We saved it for the trip and did not eat till later It was not different from the standard american chicken sandwich. I was disappointed, was looking forward for a different taste, like of a Turkish kick. The good about it , the bread was not soggy by the time we eat , it was still toasty .
The store sells many different food items that you may enjoy. The place itself is clean, nice but the employees were talking and did not focus on sales and customer service- looks like some were ready to end their shift.
The location is with a good view of the airway, lots of plane departing or arriving made our stay worth waiitng.
On the way to my gate, I stopped to pick up a bottle of water, and seeing that they had bakalava, I ordered 2 pieces.
I am sad that I did. The water is fine, but that bakalava… wow, it was pathetic. It was dry and flavourless. I took a bite and ended up tossing it. Sadly that meant tossing a $5 into the garbage. *le sigh*
Eat & Go? It's more like Eat, Sit, Sit, Feel the pain in the wallet and Go!
The only benefit of this place is that it is near the gate. Other than that, it is very overpriced in the airport. Granted, it is the airport. A large bottle of water cost me $ 6. Yup, that hurts. I heard a lady freak out over the price of mediocre pizza. It traumatized me not to get the pizza. There are better airports with superior food. We are left with Eat & Go as the last place to grab a bite before heading internationally.
Indeed I believe Gozleme is Turkish for yummy. It may be what I'm more familiar with as a "spinach pie" but whatever you call it, when I'm at the airport, my food expectations are very low. Usually in fact I bring my own food from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's and enjoy it at my leisure.
So on this trip when I was not prepared, you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to find these guys selling veggie goodies out in the wilds of the airport terminal. Wow!
Good stuff, I'll definitely go back to these guys.
Headed to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines, this Turkish fast food spot is literally right outside the gates. I bypassed some of the very Turkish items as I knew what was in store for me ahead the next week, so I opted for a cajun chicken wrap. Guess what? It wasn't horrible!
While an American spot would consist of a flavorless wrap stuffed with fried chicken or disgusting grilled chicken and some filling, this version was more of a pulled chicken salad with a hint of spice wrapped in a pretty flavorful pita/wrap. I again, didn't hate it.
This terminal sucks for food, but I gotta say this spot sufficed.
