  1. I had the ham & Swiss soup & sandwich & it was pretty much as expected. The American sized (large) sandwich had 2.5 inches of ham & cheese that I could't put in my mouth. The cup of soup was minuscule…. So I added a bowl after. For dinner food, not bad. The other customers (and it was full for a Monday lunch) seemed to be retired folks. Place does okay.

  2. This place is always busy.  It looks like an old home when you pass by it off oak tree road.  We used to go here all the time after Church.  Very hard to find parking.  They do have their own parking lot.  Nice little family owned restaurant.
Ive always ordered chicken parmesan in here, and they havent disappointed me.  For dessert, my girl always get the same thing, it is the belgian waffles w strawberries n ice cream on the side.  Thats a good way to end your meal.
Never really waited a long time if there is a wait.  People here always come in and go…so theres always a table opening up.

  3. I really should just stick to either omelets, spinach pie, or the Greek salad. Anything else lately has been disappointing. I recently had the Reuben Sandwich and it really wasn't good at all.  The bread wasn't toasted enough, there was too much sauerkraut, neither the corned beef or pastrami was particularly seasoned or tasty.

Service is also hit or miss.  Some of the waitresses, particularly Valerie, are great.  A few others are pretty lackadaisical and if they spill something on you or forget something that you asked for, it doesn't seem to be their problem or concern.

I still like the place and still will tell people to try it.

  4. Consistently good eats that will leave your stomach full and your wallet happy.

Came here for a weekend lunch with a large group. From start to finish, the waitress seating us was incredibly alert and attentive- she gave us things before we knew we needed it at our table.

We got two specials: the spicy chicken salad and the meatball parmigiana sandwich. Both were humongous- enough for two meals. Generally, the food had fresh ingredients, and were seasoned relatively well.

From the kind and amiable staff to the cozy, hometown atmosphere, you can tell that this place is a staple diner in the Edison area. I definitely will be back again if I'm in need for a comfortable, filling meal.

  5. A family diner specializing in breakfast all the time.

You can't help, but notice a definite focus on the first meal of the day at this place. The menu is beyond ginormous with not only a colossal variety of  breakfast, but lunch and super early bird dinner. I mean your hands and eyes will tire from page after page of options. When you think your done you'll notice the daily specials under the table glass.

Priced well,  just about everything's under $10 or less. Portions seem to be quite large.  You may need a doggie bag.

Friendly hometown look,  nicely decorated for each season. Plenty of room for lots of people to prop their derriere. A table with take home baked goods sits near the door. Warm & cozy mom & pop feel.

A robust selection of homemade soups at $5 per quart or 4 for $19 to go. I have to be honest with you I'm definitely a soup type of guy, always so comforting and warm making you feel welcome. Whether it be a cup or bowl, only in the serious heat of the summer will I pass. Seems to complete the meal and make me happy. Kinda like a shot on the house, baby. They do soup well, not great though.

If your a member of the aarp crowd or looking for a sugar mama or daddy then this is the place for you. Gray and died hair as far as the eye can see, I felt like a kid in this handy cap parking zone eatery.

So why 3 stars? Having dined here on at least 3 or 4 times one things clear especially when the menu's larger than King Kongs appetite, quality will be compromised.  Unfortunately, I've never had anything that I felt was outstanding. For the price you won't be disappointed. You won't be blown away either, not even the soup to my dismay.

A worthy affordable option when in a indecisive food mood.
