Came here for Cincinnati night – which they have once a month with Skyline Chili and Graeter's Ice Cream. All of this was new to me, but a friend went to Ohio State and apparently these two brands are huge over there.
Unfortunately this place disappointed me a bunch.
First off, we had a 7:30 reservation for a party of 6 but didn't sit down until after 8:00. I get that they're busy and the seating time isn't guaranteed but once we got seated, no one was in a hurry to get us water or take our order. And the place was no longer crowded. So there's really not much of an excuse for that. We flagged someone down for water and he did promptly take our order since we were all ready by that point.
We had the homemade potato chip and bbq sauce appetizer (you dip the potato chips in the bbq sauce). And it was okay. But it was just potato chips and bbq sauce. Not much to say there.
I had to get the chili since it's the staple of Cincinnati night. It comes 3-way, 4-way, or 5-way (meaning the toppings on it). I went all out and got the 5-way which came with Skyline chili, spaghetti?! (odd), cheese, onions and beans. There really wasn't much chili if any. It was all of the other toppings. And it was $15! The boyfriend had the ribs which were a very small portion but priced at $19. I think they're frozen overnight shipped from Cincinnati so I guess that's why such a high price point.
For dessert we had the ice cream which is $6 for a very small portion (also from Ohio so therefore expensive for not much of a portion). I got the mint chip and the chips were great they were soft chunks of chocolate. The mint ice cream was more like vanilla. It was really tasty, but it was not mint flavored at all. My friend agreed.
In the end, I'm glad I came and tried it. But nothing to write home about.
Yelp led me to this establishment and it hit the spot. My tasty western omelette came with fries and a salad, which all equated to a nice-sized portion of belly-filling goodness. The bartender was friendly and attentive as well. This place was a nice find!
One of my go to places by the job. Usually go to hide out when the going gets tough at work. Plus it's several blocks away and you know you won't bump into anyone you know. The food is delicious here. I think of it like our guilty pleasure and hidden escape. Guilty pleasure because they have a grilled cheese with tomato and cheddar sandwich on sour dough bread that's to diiiiiiiiieeeee for. Comes with a side of fries. They serve wine here as well. I compliment the sandwich with a nice glass of cold pino grigio. Calamari is also delicious and if I want to be really bad lets get the guacamole and chips. All super tasty. During lunch it's pretty busy and they have outdoor seating. But I like sitting indoors. Don't need to hear the crazy NYC traffic. Owner usually sitting at the bar. Parking is not good in the area. Take the train. There is always a special menu. Although nothing has ever really caught my mind since I tend to stick to the grilled cheese. Go you won't regret it.
Definitely try the wasabi tuna sandwich. It was a bit spicy and definitely clears the nostrils because they don't skimp on wasabi but the tuna was cooked perfectly. I was surprised at how much tuna they include in the sandwich too. We went for lunch and it's a perfect place for a slow, relaxing lunch as it's not too crowded.
Yum but cramped! I was in NYC visiting friends and we happened upon this brunch spot. I ordered an omelette and it came with salad and fries which is very different from what I am used to. Usually I get toast and home fries. The food and service was great, but good gracious it is CRAMPED in there. I couldn't even take off my jacket without bumping into 5 different people. Relatively inexpensive for brunch in NYC too. I would go back!
I love love love this place. I work nearby and my coworker and brother in law recommended this place. Great spot for lunch quick friendly service and food is awesome. I had chocken fingers with a cesar sald and fries. Typically you expect hard crunchy chicken fingers this place has a breaded crispy twist and it was absolutely delicious. the food was just right not greasy and cheap like some bars usually serve. I cant wait to go back
Edward's is a cute little café in Tribeca with great service and solid food options. I met my friend for lunch on a Friday and we were able to get a seat without a reservation. Though the tables are a bit tight, it made the dining experience more intimate. I opted for the Crispy Chicken Fingers with fries and salad (the fries were awesome!) and my friend ordered the Portobello Sandwich. For $30 we had a really nice lunch and I can't wait to go back!
Small lunch/brunch place in Tribeca. Nothing is nothing particularly trendy or new about it, but it was just really well managed. It had a great ambiance. Very chill and yet everything working in perfect sync. You get the feel that whether the next person walking through the door is a local 20-something looking to watch the World Cup, or Jennifer Lawrence looking for a quick bite to eat before heading off to a movie premiere… that they will all be taken care of with impeccable perfection.
The menu is simple and classic. The food is executed with simplicity and it absolutely delicious. They have 4 huge TVs facing all angles so that you can watch whatever is on. Service is friendly and prompt.
We were in and out of there pretty quick. Table for four. A yummy omelette with spinach and swiss cheese, fresh and crispy french fries on the side – $13. A quick, simple and delicious lunch in an hour? Priceless.
