  1. My boyfriend and I decided to take the drive to El Buen Gusto after my boyfriends coworker who is from El Salvador recommended this restaurant – he specifically wanted us to try pupusas and the horchata drink. I have tried pupusas twice before in my entire life and that was years ago so I vaguely remember how it tasted like – I just knew that I thought it was good back then so I will probably think it's good now haha.

First off, the restaurant is a little hard to find. You have to drive into this indoor parking lot and then it's too your right . I'm not sure if that's the only entrance but that's the way we found it. The restaurant itself doesn't have a sign (or at least I didn't see one) – there's just a mini sign hanging in the middle of the lot for El Buen Gusto and stating it has the best pupusas in Elizabeth, NJ (when I saw this I was like woohoo jackpot it must be good!).

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly waitress and she sat us down and took our order. We ordered the special pupusas that had everything – it's basically a tortilla with cheese and chicharron (pork) + you had the cabbage relish to put on top (so good!). She also recommended we try the traditional Salvadorian horchata drink so we did. The pupusas were delicious!!!!!
As for the horchata drink – (I'm sorry I don't want to offend anyone!!) I didn't like it. It's a distinct taste and I'm guessing some people like it and some people don't. I'm not sure how to review it!

    Bottom line:
The service was great and the pupusas were delicious!!!!!!
