There are a multitude of late night Mexican spots, but there are few streetside that are as legit as El Coyote Dormilon. It has become sort of a cult like cart as of late, subject to many purveyors in street food crawls, food adventure seekers, and drunk folks stumbling out of the dodgy nightlife that is Roosevelt Ave. Clientele aside, they all have it right – this is some really good food.

It's not all about tacos thought ECD does it well. The asada tacos are a tad too tough for my liking, but their carnitas and lengua versions get nothing but two thumbs up. Even more appreciated are the cemitas and sopesitos, which much of the time isn't even available at other carts. Perhaps the gold mine (which others have caught onto) is the fact they will serve pambazo, which is sort of akin to a mutant child of a torta / panini, and stuffed with cheesy bits of a chorizo/potato filling. Corned beef hash, eat your heart out.

The people who run the cart are perhaps the best of all. Though English hasn't always been the easiest, they've done well with all the non-Spanish speaking crowd that treads into their territory. To say that the food (which is priced reasonably through out) speaks volumes, it is friendly service that sometimes speaks loudest.
