  1. Finally there is great Mexican food that I don't need to travel to the city for. This place is making some crazy good tacos and tostadas that trumps all those well known taco joints in the city.

The quality of their tacos and tostadas is five stars and the taste is on point. They really pile your order high with the ingredients and it's really cheap. So far I've tried the carnitas, lengua, and pork. All of them were seasoned and grilled to perfection. The meats were never dry and the flavor has been consistently good. The tacos comes in warm soft tortilla with cilantro, onions, tomatoes and slice of radish. The tostadas in my opinion is the BEST thing on the menu and the best tostadas I have tasted. The super crunchy tostada with the refried beans, Mexican cheese, and sour cream with the carnitas is perfection.

I think I've found my new go to Mexican food. This restaurant would've definitely gotten 5 stars if it weren't for the women I spoke to on the phone. She picked up and spoke in Spanish and once I responded she told me to hold on and out the phone down. Not even put me on hold but just set the phone down and I can hear her proceed to chopping something… I heard her tell someone else to get the phone and I waited for 8 mins for someone to pick up… I would've hung up if the food wasn't so good. But as for customer service be prepared for some poor attitude when you call for an order. Other than that every thing else was great.

  2. What a surprise! Who would've expected such a small place to serve such amazing Mexican food. I can't wait to come back for more.

We ordered carnitas tacos, chicken tacos, lengua(tongue) tacos and carnitas tostadas. Everything was so delicious and the salsas were perfect to pour over the tacos. Everything was so cheap as well, who needs dos tacos or whatever they are called in the city, I'll take these tacos anyday. Come try out these tacos if you want some cheap quality Mexican food.

  3. The tacos here are really good. Prices are pretty cheap as well. I have had chicken and beef tongue.  Both were pretty good. I am hoping to come back to try the other items on the menu such as the burritos and the tostadas.

  4. My new spot for authentic Mexican food, not to mention that the price is cheap considering the quality and amount they give.  I didn't have any expectations going in here, I just yelped a Mexican Restaurant and was craving some mole enchilada.  I came in and was greeted by the waitress.  They were busy packing up take out and the phone just kept on ringing the whole time we were there.   Still, she was very sweet and told us to have a seat. She was very accomodating and not rude at all.

We got chicken mole enchilada, chicken flautas, and a chicken burrito.  Boy, was I in for a very good surpirse! I was starving and my first bite really made my day.  Everything was so tasty, the beans didn't taste like they came straight from the can, the rice was very flavorful, the mole sauce on the enchilada was perfection, and the chicken was also very well seasoned.  I love everything I ate in here! I will definitely be back! It is not close to my neighborhood, but seriously I would come all the way here just to have their food.

El Mexicano, you had me at first bite.

  5. So freaking good I love this place.

Might be one of the best hidden secrets in New York.

Tongue tacos and pastor are the best.

The Mexicano burrito with grilled cactus so good.

Flavorful chicken and all things taste so authentic.

    Gorditas, Chilupas,  are the s….

Been here 4 times coming again and again.

  6. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that it took them forever to deliver my order. However, the food was delicious. One of the best tacos in the area. Chicken quesadilla was Ok, not the greatest tho. Will definitely order again!

  7. I came here with my mom on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty. One table was occupied by two little girls doing homework and playing with dolls (probably owner or staff's daughters). Another table of two guys. So we sat in the back right by the television. We decided what we wanted on the menu and I walked up to the counter to order.

We ordered the quesadilla which on the menu says $8.00 and you have a choice of meat (beef, chicken, pork) so my mom chose beef, and it came out to be $8.50. The beef was an extra $.50 (saw on receipt when I paid). It would've been nice if she told me that when I ordered and asked if I still wanted. I don't mind paying the extra but would've been nice if it was different from the menu. I thought it was $8.00. I asked for green sauce and she said it will be on the side (never saw that sauce). There were two quesadillas with some salad on the side. The beef and everything in the quesadilla was well seasoned and tasted pretty good. It had a little drizzle of sour cream over the quesadillas and that was not enough. The salad could've just been left out, more like a bad space holder on the plate.

Anyways, we also got the Burrito al Mexicano with chicken. It was a pretty big burrito and came with two lime pieces. Also no sauce with it. Didn't really eat much of it because we also ordered the buffalo wings that came with rice and beans or you can choose fries and soda. The wings were just really spicy buffalo wings and had brown rice with beans on the side. The rice was burnt so I had to pick those out. Other than that, it was nothing special but can be very filling.

The food took awhile, like more than twenty minutes. I guess they were busy doing takeout orders but another table with two guys came after us and ordered after us got their food before us. She gave us the quesadilla first and when I asked for a clean plate she told me ok but took her ten minutes to give me one. We were already done with the first quesadilla when she brought over the plate.

It was my first time trying this place out and I might come back and try something else like their philly cheese steak sandwich which I heard was pretty good. The food is not bad here which is why I give it a three stars.

  8. I love this place. I always order take out from here and compared to the other Mexican place around the way, El Mexicano makes their food with love.

I always order a vegetarian quesadilla or burrito. The quesadilla is my favorite. Many places just out onions and some peppers in there, but here they add avocado and rice, and it gives such a soft and delicious addition to the already good food. Plus, their prices are really reasonable.

    Two things:
    1. Their take out menu says they are open 7 days a week, but I often call them and they never pick up, only to find out that their closed. This has happened on Saturdays and Sundays. Obviously they're not open 7 days a week, so they could update their menu and add their actual hours of operation.

    2. As a nacho lover. I wish they offered nachos with cheese, beans, guacamole, and sour cream etc. They do have guacamole and chips but I haven tried that yet.
