Edit: Since I received hate mail and accusations from the owner of the business (who also wrote a 5-star review for herself), I'll paste both the angry note and the accusations in here, since they are part of my consumer experience.
Angry note: "Our Cholados are NOT premade! get your facts straight before posting incorrect information on your page. Also, I am not sure what affiliation you have with the other Cholado business and I really don't care. However, you need to stop posting their information on our page. If you consider yourself a "good food critic" then you shouldn't conduct yourself in such unprofessional matter. We are proud of our business and if others prospect from what we build 13 years ago in Queens, well how wonderful. Have a good day"
Review posted by same person (La Casita D): "Unsure why Mr. Fox E. Has to trash a business that has been in business for 13 years just to get business into "Jugos Prontitos" or whatever their name is. I am the owner of El Palacio de Los Cholados and we take great pride in our service, fruit and establishment. We respect our clients and do our best to provide the best quality in regards to fruit, condense milk ect, ect. If by CHOICE we don't offer a variety of flavor of cholados, that is our choice as a business. However, I find it very disrespectful for you Mr. Fox e. to post your marketing strategy on our page to improve the business of another establishment. Shame on you sir."

Just to respond to that really quickly: I've only been here twice, and both times they gave me the $6 cholado out of a refrigerator full of pre-made cholados. I've never given false information in any of my 2,500 reviews and I have no affiliation with any business. If the stuff here was being fresh made and tasted good, I'd give them a good review.
Just an FYI, if you give this business a bad rating, it looks like they'll create a fake account, accuse you of things you've never done, and send you hate mail.
Nevertheless, good luck to them.
Here's my original review.

I call this El Palacio de Last Choice because this is the last choice I would ever make if I want a Cholado in Queens (which I often do).
I don't give under 3 stars to family places except in extreme circumstances. But the product was extremely dissatisfying and scored a 1. And it's soooo overrated.
I'm comparing it directly to several other cholados in the area, which are mediocre and pre-made, and also to the best cholado I've ever had, at nearby Jugos Prontito y Algo Mas in Elmhurst, which is made fresh, from scratch, on the spot for you, for the same price.
I'm a huge fan of cholados, in fact probably the biggest lover of cholados you will ever meet. I must be spoiled by Jugos Prontito, because I was excited to try the cholado from here, and disappointed that they had about 50 of them pre-made (from god knows when) in the fridge. They pulled one out of the fridge and gave it to me.
Now, if it was good, then it wouldn't be such an issue that it's pre-made. But it was the opposite of good. The fruit tasted congealed and like it had been sitting around. The condensed milk tasted really weird. The combination didn't work at all. There was no shaved ice because it had been in a fridge. If Jugos Prontito was a 10 out of 10, then this ia a 1 or 2.
What makes it more frustrating is everyone raving "best cholado I ever had." It's a pre-made cholado that's been in the fridge for ages! Have you ever had a fresh one? And clearly some of these people need to get down to Jugos Prontito and try a fresh one and taste the difference.
Nevertheless I would usually give them a 3 star for being a family business, making an effort, and serving one of Colombia's greatest gifts to the world… yes even better than Shakira and the Arepa. And Carlos Valderrama. And James Rodriguez. And Shakira's achy breaky shaky bottom. But the place is so overrated compared to the competition that I have to lower it to 2.
Please people. If you think this is good, try some others that are fresh made and that don't send hate mail if you don't like it.
I remember that I used to come here often, back when I had the J Curls, chasing after all the Spanish honeys and trying desperately to roll 'em R's.
2 out of 3 isn't bad right?
This place is always busy and I'd imagine that they are even busier now. As other Yelpers have pointed out, in the summertime they are swamped with customers (mostly hot chicks decked out in Colombian colors) and some dudes (may or may not be their bf…at the time).
I came here mostly as an after date spot or just to see all the eye candies walk around.
I've noticed that the pictures of the Cholados nowadays are much smaller and don't come with Waffle fingers…
NO CHOLADOS IS COMPLETE WITHOUT WAFFLE FINGERS.
I'm getting all nostalgic thinking about 3 times the recommended daily intake of sugar by having just one Cholado….
mmmmm….Cholado.
Space is tight so most people grab and go. I don't recall them having an air conditioner but no one usually sits in anyway.
And yes you can share a Cholado is you get the super size.
I, however do not.
I was introduced to this Colombian dessert by my friend. I have no experience with South American desserts so this was a treat. Cholados are not really my type of dessert, but I can see why people would like them.
A $6 regular consists of a huge cup with a layer of fruity crushed ice that tasted somewhat like guava, a layer of strawberries, bananas, and canned pineapple, another layer of shredded coconut, and all topped with condensed milk. The slushie thing at the bottom was so refreshing. If only 7-Eleven served that ice as a slushie.
I don't like condensed milk, so it would have been perfect for me if I could get a huge cup of that fruity crushed ice topped with the fruit and shredded coconut. I guess it wouldn't really be a cholado then, but oh well. Cholados are really great for a hot summer day or night. If I'm in the area, definitely coming back to see if I can get one without the condensed milk.
What is there not to like about Cholados? I love the name of the place….It's a palace of cholados!! And it's true. That is what they specialize in. They don't sell anything else other than these fruity condensed milk concoctions. Either as a drink or a fruit salad but they all use the same base ingredients…mixed fresh fruit served with a generous dollop of condensed milk.
The super combination for $6 has juice and shaved ice along with the fruit such as strawberries, bananas, pineapple and coconut shaving along with a generous drizzle of condensed milk and a bright red maraschino cherry on top. Served in a large clear plastic cup so you can see the layers. Watching the milk mix in with the juice in time is actually fun too see all those colors.
This place has been here for over a decade, probably pretty close to 20 years and all they sell is a variation of the same thing…they must be doing something right. It's my fave place to go for cholados.
Just awesome Cholados!
So delicious on a hot summer day.
The Super combination ($6) is full of fruits, condensed milk coconut and shaved ice just makes me forget how hot it is outside.
Tip: The place is very popular during warm seasons and parking is a challenge in this neighbor.
The Palace of the Cholados. What a fitting name for such a simple store.
Does this place look like a palace? No.
Would drinking a cholado there make you feel like a freaking king? Hell yes.
For those who want to know what a cholado is… try it then you'll know it.
For those who are hesitant to try it… try it.
Don't listen to me because I am Asian, listen to me because I am round lol So, this place is super bare bones, it's really just a counter, there are no seats, no decor, no nothing really. The place is also a one trick pony, the cholados are the way to go. I came yesterday when it was 90 degrees and oh Sweet Moses was it good. I didn't want to walk and eat, since this sucker is kinda messy, so I stood and ate at the chest high counter.
The food:
Cholado Regular- Cholados are essentially a fruit juice cocktail with crushed ice with condensed milk, strawberries, bananas, pineapple and coconut shavings on top. I really love this and it's fruit, so it must be healthy(pay no mind to the mounds of condensed milk) lol The fruit cocktail is sooo refreshing on it's own. I like to take the lid off, dig from the top condensed milk layer first, then I mix everything with the juice. *does a happy dance* yelp.com/user_local_phot…
Delicious!!!!! great for when you craving a light and healthier dessert. Been coming here for a long time, usually in the Summer. *********For my surprised still delicious in the winter ;). ********
{I got he Regular Cholado}
~Shave ice, Passion Juice with fresh Banana, Pineapple, Strawberry, Condense Milk, top with Coconut sprinkles and a cherry on top. What a Delish!!!! Just by describing it makes want to get one. :p
The blend from the ice to the fruits is a perfect match, every scoop is a tropical paradise. The pictures don't do justice to the taste, it might look overwhelming but is totally the contrary. The taste is light and the fruits are fresh and sweet. Love it!!!!
